Started a league if anyone wants to play.
All you do is pick one team a week, if that team wins, you move on, if they lose, you're out.
You can't pick the same team twice.
League size is unlimited, so feel free to pass along.
This will literally take 3 minutes of your time every week, but good bragging rights.

I took the defending champs in their home opener as I do every year. It was bothersome that they had to play Tennessee, I did take a small birdbath vs. the spread. I can afford it but it sucks. You bet on people like Hines Ward and he pisses down his leg. That's a guy and a team I'll bet on time and again.

I don't understand people taking the Stillers to win that game. Shit, they barely pulled it out, didn't look all that great, and barely won in overtime. If Bironas didn't fucking blow two field goals in the first half (yeah one was blocked), that game would have turned out the way it should have. The most accurate kicker in the league fucking shanked the game winner in the first quarter.

Receivers fumble from time to time, Bironas rarely misses a chip shot like he did in that first quarter. This weekend alone there are more solid locks. New Orleans woopin on Detroit and Cincinnati taking down Denver are easy picks.

Who knows? The Poon knows. Denver is going to be complete shit. Hack offense that won't move the ball and Dawkins can't improve that wretched D by himself. Go ahead and double cover Ocho Cinco. That will leave Coles open way too often. That game will be decided by more than a TD. Matt Stafford will be crying in a little ball on the sidelines after he gives up two INT's in the first half alone. Best part of that game will be picking which receiver scores the most TD's.

If Bironas didn't fucking blow two field goals in the first half (yeah one was blocked), that game would have turned out the way it should have. The most accurate kicker in the league fucking shanked the game winner in the first quarter.
IF Hines Ward doesn't fumble, they cover the spread. D'ur. They're the champs in they're home opener. There is no more solid lock on the board the rest of the year. Period.
Receivers fumble from time to time, Bironas rarely misses a chip shot like he did in that first quarter. This weekend alone there are more solid locks. New Orleans woopin on Detroit and Cincinnati taking down Denver are easy picks.
Cincy over Denver? Come on. Who knows what either of those teams are going to look like? And Matt Stafford's window licker will lick the windows of the non-believers.
Did you just drive right into the Detroit/New Orleans game without any warning, or can you not actually tell the difference between Matthew Stafford and The Neckbeard?

6-0 Denver in the third. That's what you meant, right?
Oooh. Brandon Stokely just threw down somebody's romeo on when he caught the tipped pass for a long TD. Was that yours Poon? It'd be a damn shame if you weren't to bless us with your SURVIVAL tactics for the next 16 weeks or so. You were dead on balls accurate with the NO pick though. I should have picked them and saved the Steelers.

This logic is almost as solid as your FEELING that the red-hot Phillies had a beatdown coming at the hands of the Cubs earlier this season.
The Red Devils are 6 to 6.5 point favorites on the road, no? (Yeah... I triple-checked this.) And, given 17 weeks in the pool, you never
have to pick Detroit if you don't want to.
Sure, it's a fun pick if you win. But you'll look like a PANK making an unforced error if you lose.
Having said that, I'll probably get knocked out this week after the smart money loses in an upset. Because, if the NFL is good for nothing else, it's good for making anyone who ventures to predict what will happen look like an asshole retard.

I'm beginning to realize that the insidious thing about a survivor pool is that, by the time someone actually wins it, no one else is even paying attention, let alone caring.
At any rate, after Apex's playoff-bound Bengals fell to the mighty Raiders in the final seconds today, the pool's down to me, Dolan and two other guys who may or may not be Desipiots.

Shooter, still alive (unlike my namesake). Cowboys made it interesting this week.
The Raiders have had a profound effect on this league. They took out a bunch of guys when they beat the Eagles a few weeks ago and three more yesterday.
If I had to have bet my life on a game yesterday it was that the Fighting Belichicks would hammer the Jets. And there they were, up two TDs and throwing bombs into the end zone at the end of the game. It's good to harness evil.

Meh. I stopped paying attention myself after getting burned by Jacksonville last week. (Even if I'd survived that upset, I'd have only lived to get burned by the Raiders this week. The 2010 NFL is a harsh mistress.)

Bumped to remind Thrill that his self-righteous asshurtedenss was absent last week over JD's pick of ST. LOUIS (over a 2-1 Seattke team) as well as DETROIT'S pick this week.
Where's the outrage, Arbiter of Reasoned Survivors Picks? Where?!?!
Meh. I stopped paying attention myself after getting burned by Jacksonville last week. (Even if I'd survived that upset, I'd have only lived to get burned by the Raiders this week. The 2010 NFL is a harsh mistress.)
At least I went down with integrity, though, rather than flipping coins week after week until finally coming up tails on the fucking Seahawks.
Wait a second. I'm dumb because I put 7 points on Buffalo to beat the same Jacksonville team that you targeted, 1 week earlier, as the most "sure-loss" team, excepting no more than four teams that you may had already have picked in the prior weeks? Do I have that right?
Why come no one can take a ribbing and just move on?

Were they really duels though? I was getting laid to waste and never had a comeback. I still don't and I won't when he returns.
