We had a similar problem with one of my work leagues were everyone had opinions and so there was all the suggesting without any progress.  We just declared on guy the commissioner and he just arbitrarily made the rules and if anyone didn't like them they could go to hell.  It worked out pretty well even if in his lust for power he mandated everyone's team names.

I nominate JD as the Emperor of the fantasy baseball league.  He can set all the rules and if anyone doesn't like them they can go join NSBB's league.

Not if the bed-whizzers continue to insist on keeping it locked up tight they can't.

I may have a lot of opinions, but, at the end of the day, I couldn't care less what the rules are, etc.  I'm in.  If JD wants to be emperor, or Pre, or, shit, even BC, I'm in.

It seems to me like two leagues might be in order, for a couple of reasons. First, 24 is an unwieldy number of teams. Second, some people hate the head-to-head format.

One grand league for all of our fringe little world would be cool, but it seems too difficult to manage. And that's before we even try to schedule a live draft with 24 guys.
Amen.
a 24 team league is too much of a cluster fuck.  2 sister leauges, 2 commishes, and 2 formats seems much more practical.
and I second the nomination of JD as comish.

another thought, just to make this more complicated.
I've heard many hardcore fantasy players say that the true manly way to draft is a live auction draft.  is there anyway to do that in cyberspace?
Except for the fact in the Ted Lilly one that you can see the baseball in his hand behind the knife. I don't know about the first one but I'm be very, very surprised if the second picture is an actual ad.

This baseball league is an example of why democracy doesn't work.  Or something.

This in no way means that I'm the commissioner, but let's figure out who's gonna be in what league.  SSM's comin' with me.  Unless some of them wanna go to the other one(roto) in which case they or him will dominate that league.

Shit, by my original suggesting of JD being co-commish, I think I just outed myself from the position.  Fuck!

I'm sorta no longer giving a shit if I'm in this league or not. The whole idea's gone to pot.

Jesus fucking christ.  What is this, the Platypus league?

Make it a 5x5 league and be done with it.  Pick a service and a draft date.

These two statements are me, up and down.

If we are voting to split into two leagues, then I prefer H2H. I vote to stay a 24-team league with 20-man rosters, however.
Desipio is a free-flowing website that occasionally touches on the immaturity, foolishness and outright stupidity of its readership.

I like the idea of one huge ass league myself, but one thing to consider is whether or not any free services (I'm frugal) will support 24 teams.

Just to clarify, that's an average of 16 players from each Major League team.  That means it could break down like this, for every team:

8 positions players owned
5 starters
3 bullpen guys

That includes every team, even the Pirates, Orioles, etc.  People would wind up drafting Edwin Jackson.  Then they'd have to make five more picks after that.

Not to mention, that draft would take about 10 hours.
