Not only has Chuck come up with the shittest Dead Pool thread title for quite some time, but the SF Chronicle has now removed all trace of the original article, so I'm guessing Kim's not even dead.  I can only imagine how relieved he must be.

I vaguely remembered his amusingly-named website "WK's Coach's Box (http://www.wk20.com/)," which is no longer so amusing:

Quote... WK and his wife Natasha have retired to Arizona.

Toward the end of his career, WK started to experience some loss of his short-term memory. Many tests were run to determine the cause, but nothing definitive was found. Over time, the memory loss worsened so Natasha scheduled more tests to be performed by the Mayo Clinic. It was determined that WK had early-onset Alzheimer's disease. Alzheimer's disease is a form of dementia that is incurable, degenerative and terminal in nature. To read more about the disease, go to http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Alzheimer.

The disease has now progressed to the point where WK lives full-time at a care facility specializing in memory loss.  Natasha visits him one or two times a week.  He can no longer process cards or letters so please do not send any.  Natasha realizes we would all like to help, but points out that even if there were a way to reverse the damage of the disease, WK is too far along.

Damn.

This may be PenFoe's greatest Dead Pool failure yet.

I always assumed his nickname was "Wavin' Wendell" as in he "waved" people home, and didn't "waive them" as in terminate their contract.

If that didn't break it down enough you misspelled the word, moron.

It's actually fitting that a Dead Pool thread for an individual associated with the 2004 Cubs would be such a trainwreck so nice work.

He's not.  If you do a Google Search for "Waivin' Wendell", most of the handful of hits you get are from IvyChat.  Internet Chuck has been wrong for fucking years about this.

You know, this one I'm going to take full blame for.  As occupational bias.  We "waive" loan covenants and overdraft fees and other things all the time around here.  We waive stuff to let them pass through uncontested.  It never occurred to me that you wave some one in from third vs. waive them in.
