OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

How was the download/installation process? That's quite a file they want you to download.

Simple as could be. I backed up with SuperDuper while it downloaded. Make sure you read Siracusa's advice on Ars to save the installer dmg somewhere, since the installation will wipe it.

Should you really be downloading a file to a drive while backing it up?

Steve Jobs has resigned as CEO from Apple, Inc.

QuotePRESS RELEASE: Letter from Steve Jobs

August 24, 2011–To the Apple Board of Directors and the Apple Community:

I have always said if there ever came a day when I could no longer meet my duties and expectations as Apple’s CEO, I would be the first to let you know. Unfortunately, that day has come.

I hereby resign as CEO of Apple. I would like to serve, if the Board sees fit, as Chairman of the Board, director and Apple employee.

As far as my successor goes, I strongly recommend that we execute our succession plan and name Tim Cook as CEO of Apple.

I believe Apple’s brightest and most innovative days are ahead of it. And I look forward to watching and contributing to its success in a new role.

I have made some of the best friends of my life at Apple, and I thank you all for the many years of being able to work alongside you.

Steve

The early guess is he must be in pretty poor and worsening health.  A real shame.

Would this count as a "job created?"

WAYTOGOOBAMA!!!

Step 1: Give many currently-employed workers cancer.
Step 2: Cancerworkers resign.
Step 3: Uncancerworkers take cancerworkers' jobs.
Step 5: PROFIT!

Who needs a new WPA?

PS - This does suck for Jobs and for the company.
This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.
