Yes, occasionally. I didn't smoke for years after a couple of slightly scary episodes, but these days I steer clear of the Dutch stuff, stick to the Thai and it's all good. The best I ever smoked was called "Malawi Gold" and it the second closest I've ever been to a religious experience. The closest was walking up the steps at Wrigley.

According to R.C. Clarke, whom I haven't had a reason to extract from the shelf in a while, when Malawian strains first appeared (perhaps 1980), they hit the market "wrapped in bark and rolled tightly, approximately four ounces at a time."

Oleg, we've been through this. Small-scale indoor growing is not a thrifty proposition. Outdoor growing cannot be rushed and is even more subject to catastrophe. The only thing that is directly purchased is the entertainment of sitting around watching the plants. I don't deny the appeal of this, but don't mistake it for a savings.
I have a 400 watt HPS and 30 gallon reservoir for anybody who can locate Gil's spare coffee maker. Submersible pumps extra.

The point isn't the savings, it's the control. Sure, you don't have to make your own beer in order to be a beer connoisseur, but if you're a beer connoisseur, it's probably more fun to make your own.

I don't think this is a fair apples-to-apples comparison as a huge variety of wonderful beer is freely available on the open market.
Home brewing is a shitton of work that frequently results in a piece of crap end product, very often much worse than a lot of the stuff you can get from your local beer-o-rama.
Whereas, with growing your own grass you can produce an end product that's often not only higher quality than you can get (depending on your connections, of course) but also right in your living room whenever you want it.
Abbie Hoffman made the suggestion, in "Steal this Book" I believe, that if you took a bag of weed and buried it in the ground and then dug it up a few months later, that it would be "some moldy, kick-ass weed". Sadly, I was never motivated enough to find this out on my own.

I would agree. However, the operative word is 'could'. If you don't know what you're doing with growing weed, you'll wind up with crap, too. And, in places like Colorado, it is fairly freely available, as well.

QuoteToday in R v. Mernagh the Ontario Superior Court of Justice found the entire regulatory scheme governing medical marijuana (the Marihuana Medical Access Regulations) to be invalid. As a result sections 4 (prohibiting possession) and 7 (prohibiting production) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act were stricken. The government has been given 90 days to fill the legislative void or it will become legal to possess and produce marijuana.
