DPD.

So here's something interesting.  Y'All remember Skinny Pete, the skinny meth-head that was friends with Jesse early on in BB?  Well I'm early in Season 2 and when Jesse and Walter are trying to get some high-volume stuff in front of Tuco without getting their asses blown off, Jesse informs Walter that it turns out his buddy Skinny Pete bunked with Tuco while serving some time.  So Skinny Pete was the "in" for them to meet  Tuco (I mean, the original meeting didn't turn out too well for Jesse of course but still).

In re-watching that episode last weekend, I wondered if the sentence Tuco was serving when he met Skinny Pete was from his altercation with Mike in BCS...but then of course the end of last night introduces the guy who eventually turns out to be the scary-as-fuck stroke-induced "Tio"  (I know it turns out he has a name and was in fact a big player in the cartel biz but I don't remember his name) who looks to get Mike to drop the charges so maybe Tuco doesn't do much time after all.

Which, speaking of that last scene, offering Mike 5 grand and also take the fall on the possession charge is awfully, awfully insulting, isn't it?

And just to wrap up the loose end from above, Krazy 8 knows Tuco in BCS, and eventually comes to know Jesse (Krazy 8 was Hank's "snitch" who led to the first bust in BB when Walter went along on a "ride-along" and Jesse escaped through the window)...anyway Jesse knows Skinny Pete who knows Tuco from jail.  Small world.

Tuco is still going inside for the battery charge at a minimum.  That's where he'll meet Skinny Pete.

Nah.  Plea bargain to a misdemeanor and 30 days in County.  Out in 15 for good behavior.

Hector Salamanca. Also remember that last week, it was said that Mike's plan would draw Salamancas like flies. One week later, here's Tio.

DPD. Also because of last week, Mike understands the $5,000 offer is really not an offer at all. It's a threat. And Tio sure knew a lot about Mike, didn't he? That's why Mike is furious when Tio leaves.

Yeah....now I'm just wondering how Mike goes from here...to where he is when we pick up his story in BB.

Hey--so are there any chances of a Walter White walk-on?  How about Hank?  The possibilities are endless.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Agreed. It was a serious threat.
Mike didn't want it to get this far.

Gilligan has said yes, they can see BrBa characters appearing on the show, including Walt, but they'll only do it when it makes sense for the story. They won't use it to prop up BCS. Having seen one and a half seasons of it now, I get why.

Sorry to keep running along with the parallel universes of BCS and BB but I can't help myself.  I'm halfway through season 2 on my re-watch of BB, and just watched Episode 8, which Netflix tells me is officially  entitled...

"Better Call Saul".

(That there is both a TV show and a related episode from a different show that goes by the same name reminds of the rare number of bands-- like Porno for Pyros and Bad Company--who not only have an album of the same name but also a song of the same name...and now I'm dreaming of a BCS movie)

Weird for me to see Saul introduced while I'm in the midst of watching Jimmy's earlier exploits in BCS, and reminded me how much of a caricature Saul really was in the beginning of BB, but the character actually feels surprisingly continuous in spite of the fact that that his backstory hadn't obviously been conceived at that time.  In his very first scene with Walt, the latter is disguised as "Mr. Mayhew" purporting to be Badger's (Brandon's) rich uncle, Badger who'd just been popped.    Right away, Saul says "Mayhew?  Is that Irish?  English?".  Walt replies, "Irish" and Saul replies with a pretty good ethnic insult but then quickly says, something to the effect of "I kid, My original name's McGill etc"

And for posterity, the first real "appearance" of Saul in BB is a few scenes earlier, thanks to the aforementioned Badger.

My heart's breaking for Slipping Kimmy.  Jimmy may be charismatic, but I don't know see how she makes that move, especially knowing what she already knows about him.

I'm seriously torn between watching tonight's episode instead of the first hour of the Cubs game and no I don't have a DVR.
