Watchmen

Never been into comic books/graphic novels, but I got interested in this one when I saw it brought up in relation to the Desmond/time travel episode last season on Lost. Really cool book.

The movie doesn't come out for another year, but I'm pretty excited for this one.

Got the novel for Christmas and couldn't put it down.  Who watches the Watchmen?  Sadly, I fear the lack of crossover appeal from not having a Marvel/DC superhero may make that answer "Hardly anybody."

I'm not sure how they can chop the book down into a film without dropping most of the secondary stories.  For example, I'm guessing the whole 'Black Frieghter" story will probably be dropped from the film to cut down the running time as it doesn't tie directly into the main plot.

It's going to be a DVD extra...shows that they are really trying to go all out on this.

Holy balls. Looks like it's going to be filet tits.

I've had my reservations, but I'm cautiously optimistic.
Take that, Adolf Eyechart.

Wow, looks great. I'm going to go out on a limb and say it'll be better than Boy Meets World.

I've just been reading about this, been seein all that. It looks pretty excellent. The Rorshach face guy looks sweet.

I haven't read the novel, which I did before I saw V for Vendetta. I thought that movie did a good job of staying faithful - but I think I'll just skip the book for Watchmen and read it after. I don't want it to ruin the movie.

DOOOOM!

QuoteAn attorney for 20th Century Fox says the studio will continue to seek an order delaying the release of 'Watchmen.'

U.S. District Court Judge Gary Feess last week agreed with Fox that Warner Bros. had infringed its copyright by developing and shooting the superhero flick, scheduled for release March 6.

Feess said Monday he plans to hold a trial Jan. 20 to decide remaining issues.

Fox claims it never fully relinquished story rights from its deal made in the late 1980s, and sued Warner Bros. in February. Warner Bros. contended Fox isn't entitled to distribution.

Warner Bros.' attorney said Monday he didn't know if an appeal was coming, but thinks a trial is necessary and a settlement unlikely.
