So, this show is really funny.  Jane Lynch's character is just awesome.

Yes, I'm raving about Glee.

They should launch the fake-pregnant broad, but the musical numbers are pretty damn funny.

I liked last week's Accafellas doing "Sexx You Up" at a PTA meeting.

Just started watching the show today, and I give this the TDubbs seal of approval: Two Boners Up!  Jane Lynch would be hilarious reading off the menu at Olive Garden.

I really enjoy this show.  At times, I am reminded of Arrested Development, but other times, it is something completely different.  A great show.

Now, FRINGE is another story.

Almost no Jane Lynch in this episode sucks, but Kristin Chenoweth was great.  Also, I'm pretty sure that Chris Klein has to crouch in every shot because he's about 5 feet taller than everyone else.

You're a jackass.

I'm not sure I can get with this show. It's funny enough at times, and often the comedy is surprisingly sly. I'm just not sure how many of these Auto-Tuned musical numbers I can really handle.

I do appreciate that they named Stephen Tobolowsky's character Ryerson, though. (According to IMDb, he also played the character Mitch Myerson in Single White Female. Fun fact!)

Yeah, the comedy is definitely better than I had expected ("We'll get you sobered up. And find you some underwear."), but the musical numbers can be hit-or-miss.  Some are really good and the performers actually appear to sing, but there also some terrible lip-synching numbers, too.  Tonight's episode had too many of those.

Kristin Chenoweth was in tonight's?  You probably just sold Dubbs on this show.

About halfway through the pilot I realized the show was created by the guy who made Popular ... same themes, but not quite the same level of pure insanity yet.  It's a v. funny, silly show.  Like Stew said, it's not exactly subtle, but I'll watch this thing until it's canceled midway through its second season.

The karaoke bit was terrible.  I'm pretty sure the entire cast actually sings on this show, and the girl who plays Rachel was on Broadway, but some of the musical bits are just awful, awful.  See: "Gold Digger"

Will's wife wasn't in a single shot during that karaoke bit.  Or are you referring to "Gold Digger"?  If so, I was just saying that was terrible because one of the whitest guys on TV (Will) was trying to rap and failing miserably at it.

I don't find the music too forced, but the whole Madonna thing this week definitely was.  I hope they don't have all these "theme" weeks that are probably just sponsored by whatever label the artist is signed on.

As cool as NPH can be, the fact that he couldn't make this show awesome, even by singing Aerosmith, means whatever oddball appeal this show once had is now gone.

Probably one more year of gimmick shows & casting, then fin.

Mrs. Cubbieblue reads the entertainment magazines while standing in the checkout line.  She tells me that this show is very popular with performers (or their agents) and it has become the show biz equivalent of product placement.  So if you don't like the product that week better avoid the show.  However, a couple of weeks ago one of the characters did a version of "The Lady Is A Tramp"  that started out Frank Sinatra and morphed into Sammy Davis Jr.  I found it very entertaining.

Although, this question wasn't for me, I feel compelled to answer. Being around high school students all the time, I should point out how unrealistic this show is. Who busts out in song and all of a sudden a band is behind them and know what to play? And then they're all dancing the same on a "impromptu" song? Pshaw. If they wanted this to be real, they should try harder, dammit. I'm so tired of these shows being so unrealistic.. SHIT (http://www.desipio.com/messageboard/index.php?topic=7076.msg226713#msg226713)

Thank you. Can I have some more? (http://www.gq.com/entertainment/movies-and-tv/201011/glee-photos-rachel-quinn-finn)

How I found out about these photos was horrible, though. I got in the car last night, and I had the radio tuned to a station that I don't usually listen to but it was there because the Illini games are on it and that was the last time I was in my car. And polluting my airwaves is some conservative talk radio chick, Laura Ingraham, I think.

So, anyway, she's going on about how these are "supposed high school students on the show" yet they're doing racy photo shoots, trying to capture a new older male audience. And then she goes on about how it is supposed to be a family show but the director "is making it into a family show in his view". She points to a lesbian kiss last week. She points to the Grilled Che-esus episode 2 weeks ago when a character found Jesus in a grilled cheese he made. She also mentioned something in the opener but I can't remember what it was, nor do I remember anything egregious from that episode. She then calls out for the "feminists". "Where are they? Oh, their agenda is just to have people abort their offspring." Sweet jesus is this woman fucked up. Just because you're not as hot as Dianna Agron doesn't mean you have to get so pissed about this.

Apparently you missed out on the outraged (outraged I say) Parents Television Council™ crying that a photoshoot featuring racy photos of women in their mid-twenties "borders on pedophilia." (http://www.parentstv.org/ptc/news/release/2010/1020.asp)

Otherwise you would have been jerking to these a week ago.

So, Fox TV has a show that allows its stars to be photographed in anti-family values ways and the groups protesting (and creating publicity for said show) are the kinds that find their way onto Fox News all the time.

Gotta hand it to Fox.  They know how to sell sex and do it under the faux guise of conservatism.

Oh, yea.. That reminds me. She mentioned that this is how "sexual perversion" starts. This starts the thoughts of "HOT HIGH SCHOOL GIRLS NAKED. MUST RAPE THEM." For some reason, I think it might be that if anyone wants, I'm sure they can find porn of girls in HS. "Hot HS Girls Naked. Click Here!"** Laura also went on to say that this guy is doing this show to cleverly show kids ways to defy what their parents have been teaching them. I'm sure the Christian prude parents are the majority of parents out there.

**And, yes, I know from experience.

Or they let their "news" and "entertainment" arms operate independently.

It's a good show. Plus, have you ever hit up the Tiger Beat forums after the show? Talk about hormones racing. It's like shooting fish in a barrel.
