please come back, Tony Ballgame.

Noticeably struggling. Hopefully this ends soon. Tonight would be a good time, for example.

Hopefully.  He and Soler are the only guys in the lineup who aren't shitty or having shitty offensive seasons.

Well now Kris Bryant has joined them.

Glad to see Maddon didn't leave Herrera in just because he doubled his first time up and started the scoring.  Herrera's the type of guy whose admittedly surprising number of key hits would've prompted Dusty to play him a lot more than he should.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Dusty would hit him leadoff 6 times a week.
You two wanna go stick your wangs in a hornet's nest, it's a free country.  But how come I always gotta get sloppy seconds, huh?

This fucking guy.

That drive off the wall was something else. Based on how easy his swing was, I thought it was going to be a bloop hit into center.

I wasn't actually watching the game since I never get to watch the fucking game out here in the sticks, how exactly did Rizzo fly out into a fielder's choice or whatever? That was kinda confusing, apparently confusing enough the Cubs twitter guy thought it was his 5th hit of the game.

It wasn't all that confusing -- the Cubs Twitter guy just screwed up (or didn't know the scoring rule).

Basically, there were guys on 1st and 2nd and Rizzo hit a shallow pop-up into left. Denorfia was on second and got a bad read, started heading back to second and the ball dropped in front of the left fielder. Since Denorfia got such a late break, the LF was able to throw to third and force him out.

I can't blame Cubs twitter guy, I would have also thought that was a hit and a DERP on Denorfia, not a fielder's choice. I assumed it was a hit anytime it lands cleanly in the outfield.

I wouldn't even say Denorfia got a bad break, more that he was hung up between second third without being able to commit to either.  If he cheated toward third and the ball was caught, he'd have been doubled off second.  Instead, he froze about a third of the way from second base while the ball hung.  If he did anything questionable, I suppose it was that he started going back to second for a step or two rather than staying frozen before the ball dropped but even then I don't think he'd have been able to make it to third safely.   It was just a weird flair that looked like it'd have gotten caught.  Definitely not a TOOTBLAN.

Disregard...Eli said bad READ not bad break.
