OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

What the blue hell is this?

http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2013/7/27/4540726/cubs-wrigley-field-game-time-history

On April 10, 1959, the Tribune quoted Cubs GM John Holland:

"Football has proved the 1 p.m. start on weekends is sound. We've turned back the starting times of week-day games half an hour to give fans more time between lunch and the trip to the park."

That's a rather odd statement; you'd think the Cubs would want people to come to the park for lunch.

And there we have the reasoning for a future bleacher season ticket holder to bring his wax paper covered bologna sandwiches.

If you have a player with Hester's ability to move and you don't try to get the ball in his hands on offense, you're doing something wrong. Now that the kickoffs are moved up, I really don't care who they put back there to watch it sail into the seats. And most teams punt away from Devin, or at least try. So, you've got a guy with that kind of ability and you leave it up to the other team to decide how many touches he gets in a game?

Fuck you. I don't like you.

Could be the problem was a lack of talent on offense that kept them from doing anything all that well in the passing game, or a lack of coaching from Turner, Martz et al. Could be that's all fixed now. We'll see how it plays out, won't we, smart guys?

Putting Hester out there with Bennett and Marshall and Jeffrey and Forte will create a coverage nightmare for anyone, but to think that Hester should be more than a situational receiver if it is at the expense of him returning kicks is wrong.

I suppose it could be all Dave Toub's kickoff and punt return packages and as long as you have someone who won't trip over his own feet you'll have a return threat. It's possible. But sure, let's see how it all plays out.

Didn't Johnny Knox make the pro bowl as a KR and didn't Danielle Manning lead the league in average returns? Yesir. That's not to say that it's all Toub's system, but they brought in a talented guy in Weems to do that. I'm not in favor of making him more than a situational receiver but injuries may cause that to happen. I'm convinced he's going to be very good at it in a limited role this year and I can't wait to start a thread tearing you all apart, getting real personal and out of line.

I wasn't being sarcastic with my remark about Toub because of Knox and Manning. Anyway, I hope Hester turns into a productive WR, but if I can't see him return kicks I'll be very sad.

I'm glad we now have two different threads (both started by Apex) to talk about the Bears #4 WR.

Fuck the Brewers...I'm hoping they continue the current trend of NL Central champs getting swept out of the first round.

If you have SiriusXM you should check out Oldhams's show in the morning drive time plus he has a weekend show.  He is on Little Steven's Underground Garage channel.

Here is a list of all the candidates. Minus Dan Evans.

Kim Ng went to University of Chicago and would help Asian relations and women's relations. That's a dynamic combination of things.

If she would bring more Asian women to Wrigley, I'm all for it.

Maybe he's posturing for the Cubs to buy him out but I would like to see him back.  Though I'm sure he'll be sacrificed for the meatheads in the media and the stands.

Rosenthal and CBS Sports both say Kosuke to Cleveland is almost done.

They're still shitty.

Looking at Abreu & Smith's numbers, the Cubs' farm system actually got worse.

I disagree.  By moving Colvin back up to the Cubs the farm system got better.

Let's call it a wash.

DPD.  They are singing "na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" outside the White House.

Those meth-head White Sox fans need something to cheer about.

I've enjoyed some of Radiohead's stuff but when I try to think of their "genre" Rock N Roll doesn't come to mind

Which is why genre definition is almost as useless as the idea of mainstream. Categorizing music is difficult enough. Used to be you could slap rock, rap or country on a song and be done with it. Now you're gonna argue about what's crust punk vs. stoner metal vs. post-metal grindcore. It's a joke.

Rock is a broad category. Radiohead uses instruments. We'll call them rock and put this one to bed.

Does it complicate or simplify things to know that Thom Yorke has an uncanny resemblance to Clay Aiken?

I also agree with Slak...I'm done with labels.  If it's music and I like it, I couldn't care less what it's called.

There are only two kinds of music. Good and bad.

I thought it was Country and Western
