Impressive road win over N.C. State. It's not a statement that they're championship-caliber just yet, but that's the type of win they Hoosiers just haven't gotten in the Clappy McSpazterson era. The worm is finally starting to turn. They should be an above average Big Ten team based on what I saw last night. I'll watch them against Kentucky and check back in. Or not.
I haven't seen a single second of Purdue hoop this year because college sports is for child molestors now.
11 minutes into IU/KY. I'm going with significant. That's a good basketball team. If Clappy can coach worth a shit. And I'm not sure he can, this collective can do damage in the BigTen. They can probably do that anyway. Have fun. See you in Foreskin.
Wow.
ND/IU is disgustingly honkified

What offense would you run if you were the coach? How would your system better maximize the talents of the current roster? Are there any recent matchup advantages you would have looked to exploit that maybe were ignored by the current coaching staff? If so, what are they? Would your offensive system mesh well with your defensive schemes and allow players to get back in transition, or reset themselves for a more half-court approach?

A non-POS offense. Isn't that clear from the original post?

I'd run the offense that makes the most basketballs go into the basket, then I'd run the defense that makes the other teams basketball not go in the basket. Game won.

Congratulations Purdue, you were the first in line to hand the Illini an ass-whooping. I have a feeling that there are more disasters on the way for Bubble Bruce's boys this season.
Indiana won another home game. Ho-hum.
Brandon Paul is beastly tonight
43 points for Paul tonight, helping Illinois to an actual competent offensive ballgame.
BTW, good to see the program honor Lou Henson tonight.

Illinois is playing at Nebraska right now. It was 24-16 Illini at one point. It is now 52-29 Nebraska, meaning there has been a 36-5 run for Nebraska over about the last 15 minutes of play.
Yikes.
Illinois loses to Nebraska, 80-57. The margin equals the worst of Weber's coaching career at Illinois, and this game was only the second time this season that Nebraska has scored 80.
The dude with the ugliest shot in Northwestern history is now the all-time leading scorer. Northwestern history sucks.

Nevermind
Sounds like Illinois and Mike Thomas are determined to fuck this up until the very, very end. I don't know how it's going to work out with Groce as coach but I do know that Mike Thomas is clearly a moron.
Looks like I picked the right time to stop caring about college athletics.

That's the nice thing about college football: while technically an inferior product to the NFL, the various offenses, gimmicks, and varying levels of competition in college football means that it offers something very different and entertaining in its own way (for example: MAC schools dropping 70 points on each other (http://www.mlive.com/broncos/index.ssf/2011/11/wmu_comes_up_three_points_shor.html)). While I hate the BCS, I think sometimes that the fact that it's all largely irrelevant anyways lets me just enjoy watching other team's games while ignoring the typically awful showings by Illinois.
College basketball, to me, is the same game as the NFL played by shittier players. The fact that there are usually NBA games on at the same time, as opposed to college football's Saturday dominance, means there's just no reason for me to watch a less interesting version of the same game, especially if Illinois sucks. I have no idea where I'm going with this. If somebody finds my point, please mail it to me.

The sad part is that I think my original point was going to be about why watch college basketball when the NBA is better, but then I anticipated a question no one was going to ask about why you should watch college football and got of course somewhere in the dark football-obssessed regions of my mind.
The main thing is that I haven't watched a single minute of Illinois basketball since I, in a fit of rage that would have appalled Fro Dog, swore off the sport after the REFS STOLE THEIR NATIONAL TITLE GAH JAMES AUGUSTINE WAS WAY TOO SOFT TO FOUL OUT IN FUCKING 11 MINUTES YOU ASSHOLES, and I'm still embarrassed by this coaching search of fail.
Anyway, NBA basketball, it's good. Apex told me so.
