OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Absolutely love the dipshits who are lighting up Twitter blaming the city for the motorists stranded on Lake Shore Drive. This despite the fact that the city was warning about this storm for three days, told people to stay off LSD after 4 p.m. earlier this morning, and you know, the storm is in full fucking force for the next 6-8 hours, so there isn't a helluva lot they can do.

Meatballs aren't confined to sports radio in this town...

I had two major issues with the fourth quarter, namely Martz's decision to get cutesy with a 28-3 lead and first down near midfield with that idiotic pass/INT from Forte out of the wildcat. Someone tell Martz to please not fucking do that again.

Well, it obviously didn't work for shit, but I don't think it's a 100% awful idea do do a few wacky
things to set up future plays.

Unrelated, but anyone bitching about the yards given up late in the game need to give it up and
get a new shtick.  That's what the Bears do.  It's their philosophy.

I do so love it when the Bears all of a sudden switch it up and start playing aggressive pass coverage
and knock the qb/receiver timing to hell.

I don't mind the yards. But the whole point of that is to give up the plays over the middle. Not get beat 50 yards over the top. But again, like I said, quibbles. Bears pwned Seattke today.

The other one was somehow getting beat over the top on the play before the final TD, despite having eight (and possibly nine) guys dropped into coverage. How the hell is that even possible?

But jeez, I'm not going to let those two annoyances outweigh the satisfaction I got from watching the Bears jam their cleats up Pete Carroll's trojan-hole all day. Sheesh.

When Reno Hightower was a prick, he was the best QB in Kern County.

And the white shoes! Jesus, the white shoes! The only quarterback in the history of south Kern County to wear white shoes!

Fine. Greed is good and all that. Am I allowed to be offended by the shitty Oregon playcalling when they got stuffed at the goal line in the third quarter? I think John Shoop wrestled away the headset for a few minutes there from the Oregon OC.

Not to make more work for our fearless leader here, but I think this win was worthy of a rare football Dose from Andy. And a gigantic glass of Scotch (which I already drank).

Northern, bitches.

As a Ball State grad, and Notre Dame fan, you are really making me hate this thread.

Cheer up. BSU axed Stan Parrish tonight.

As if living in the suburbs didn't suck enough already.

You ever ride the Red Line after 9 PM, City Boy?  The noxious combination of urine and insanity can do an equally good number on men's souls.

Yup. You need to sit in the Hobo Seat to get the full experience though. I'm still cleaning the afterbirth off my shoes from my latest journey.

I once saw a crazy homeless man ranting and smoking a roach from a Red Line Hobo Seat. He would take a drag from behind the Hobo Seat Partition, then reappear, amidst some ganj smoke, talking his shit.  It was hilarious to watch everybody pretend nothing was going on.

There's a pretty high bar to clear before other passengers will intervene in the hobo corner. Been riding the L nearly every day for 15+ years, and despite dozens of similar displays as the one you mentioned, the only two times I've seen it happen were when a guy started slugging his girlfriend up there (a whole group of us held the guy and held our noses simultaneously until a cop could arrive) and another time when an obese guy started jerking off during rush hour through a hole in his sweatpants (that time my fellow passengers just hit the call button).

Joe vs. Ozzie.  Not even close.  I despise Joe.  I hate his face.  I hate his smirk.  I hate his attitude.  I can't think of anything about him that I don't hate.

THI.

I don't hate his neck though. He carries two weeks worth of Gentleman Jack in there like camel's hump. When he get's stressed he just grabs hold of it and tilts it upward. Boom.

I had always figured Joe as more of an Evan Williams sort of man, but hey, to-may-to, to-mah-to...

The Griffey White Sox jersey proves this guy's life is full of poor decisions.

  • The guy in the Griffey jersey landed some really good punches on Hurley.
  • Nice security response.
  • The vendor's reaction was awesome when he sneaked away.

No fucking kidding'd.

You know, say what you will about fans at Wrigley. I've seen plenty of drunken idiot fights in 30 years of attending home games there. But I can't recall a situation where that many people were throwing haymakers at one another (without regard to bystanders), with nary a security guard or cop showing up for a full two-plus minutes.

I was watching the game today because there was nothing else on. I have to side with Ozzie and the rest of these jerkoffs when it comes to Joe West. Everyone knows the guy is a world class piece of shit. He showed why today by throwing Buerhle out of the game after two questionable balk calls in the first 3 innings. Ozzie basically called him exactly what he is and he's going to get a massive fine, I'm sure. Buerhle might get one, too.

Quote"Because he's a (bleeping, bleep), that's what he is," Guillen said of West.

Ozzie's been watching his Treme.

Or he was tight with the late DePaul professor Ashley Morris, upon whom that Treme character is based...

And yes, Ozzie is right, fuck Joe West.

The Canucks, judging by postgame comments, have no idea why they keep taking stupid penalties. They claim they were prepared for this moment and yet the last two games they've completely melted down. You'd think after game 3 they'd never do that again and yet the display in the second period was mind-blowing. New levels of garbage hockey that I didn't know existed at this stage in the postseason.

After the rash of penalties, I swear you could see Q telling the team to let them self-destruct and to not respond in kind no matter what goes on. Q has out-coached AV by leaps and bounds.

AV, on other hand, better hope he has a job next year.

Kudos to Dustin Byfuglien.  Nobody was on the receiving end of more cheap shots than Big Buff, and I don't care how well coached you are, it's tough to take that shit and not retaliate.  Buff took the shots, accepted the penalties, and Vancouver can make their tee times for next week.

THIS. Buff's game tonight was perfect, as was the Hawks response. If the Canucks want to goon it up, shove four PP goals up their ass. O'Brien played an absolutely moronic game for Vancouver tonight. It was glorious.

Hopefully, the Hawks can keep the hammer down on the home sheet Sunday night.

Well, I was going to say that Seebs is the one Hawks Olympian who looks gassed, but same thing...

Get too satisfied with yourself, and you're gonna get kicked in the 'nads.

Huet was bad tonight. But a lot of goalies would look crappy behind that defensive effort in the third period, too. Like others have noted, glad we play again at home tomorrow night.

However, if tonight's turn of events (a four-goal lead in the seventh minute of the third transforming into an L -- holy crap) can be used as added incentive to avoid letting off the accelerator in a playoff game in May or June, I'm all for it.
