OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Hasselbeck's excuse is stupid, but Detroit is on Eastern time.

Clearly, I need to drink more.

My guess is that he didn't even watch St. Farve and the Bears play, as he was preparing for Football Night In America In a Studio In New York where Dick Ebersol Flew Me In the Company Jet.  His comments were mostly about the early games.

One of the dumbest of which was the following:

Quote• Seattle struggled on the offensive line. No Steve Hutchinson. We knew that. The all-pro guard went to Minnesota in free agency. But when Walter Jones went out for a few series with a sprained ankle in Detroit, the left side of the offensive line was Tom Ashworth at tackle and Pork Chop Womack at guard. That was ugly. So was the time of the game, Matt Hasselbeck told me. "First game of the year, East Coast game, 5 a.m. wake-up calls for us, our time, and not a Starbucks in sight,'' he said. "Not to make excuses, but these Eastern road games are tough for a West Coast team.''

I know that global warming may cause the oceans to rise, but I'm pretty sure the Atlantic is not lapping against Detroit yet, nor did the time zone change.  But Hasselbeck did throw in the gratuitous Starbucks reference, give credit for him knowing his audience.

Still the Bears do best when they are unheralded,  so if Peter King cares to ignore them to a 19-0 seasons, I can live with that.

Glad you liked Fork, my ability to find restaurants luckily is better than my ability in selecting sports teams.

Is it me, or did was Bob Barker coming out of a 7 second delay at the end of the clip?

I think we all were after that display of idiocy.  I bet she's next in line to manage your 2007 Chicago Cubs.

I think her ability to only juggle 2 numbers at a time makes her more suited for the GM position.

Nice to see a team actually play with some talent.  With all the great defense, I think my favorite highlight may be LT getting absolutely pancaked by Bortz (I beleive)

We'll see how the writers handle it next season.  Anyway, they had me fooled.  I was pretty damn sure that Jim was going to end up sleeping with the chick who drove up from corporate to be Michael's 2nd date.

I also expected Jim to tell Pam he was transferring there at the end.  Didn't really see the love confession coming.

Totally agreed, I also though Jim and Jan were gonna get it on. I think they had almost all of us fooled. Did not see it coming at all, which is why I thought it was so grea.t

I was in the same boat as the rest of you folks.  I thought Jan was making the booty call.

I think they shot the wad too early.  But, as with anytime the wad is shot, it felt so, so good.  Doesn't matter if it felt right or not.  I would have put it off for a few more seasons, but we'll see where it goes.  It isn't like they're bone dry for material now.

Being a bit of a poker aficionado, I totally felt Kevin's pain after losing to Phyllis.  Not so much because of the hand, but because of the comment.  "I got all the clovers!"  or thereabouts.  That's a swifty to the softies.  Either way, Kevin was the real winner of the night.  The production values of that video = priceless.  Tell me, who wouldn't want an avatar/pic of Kevin with the '80s video coloring in mid-lyric?

Oh, yeah, I guess you could call Jim the winner.  I especially liked Michael's lead up to the final scene.   I was thinking Michael's scene was going to cap it.  Then, cut to dimmed office, and the rest, they say, is history.

What makes that line even better is that Steve Carrell (Michael) wrote this episode.  And count me in with those surprised... may have been the biggest surprise on TV since Tony got shot in the first season of the Sapranos

I hate what it is about Jim Hendry that makes him do what he does.

I still prefer the Daily Show slightly to the Repor, if only because the format is a bit more variable and there are more people (or it could just be that I am too much of a factinista).

But the Correspondents Dinner... a transcript is required reading.  I have never seen anyone absolutely immolate everyone involved in a room like that before... administration, journalists and W himself (who is apparently quite pissed about the whole thing).

Nothing like Jim snapping his fingers all 'West Side Story" style while following the two to the dojo.
