Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

Is it game used?  That would be a very rare find!

From the Sun-Times this morning:

Already having dealt with three setbacks in his rehab from early 2007 shoulder surgery, Padres pitcher and former Cub Mark Prior was expected to travel to Alabama this week for another consultation with surgeon James Andrews.

Is this the addadicktomy surgery?

Has this been used here before?

I wonder if the Birmingham Marriott holds back a room for him like the I-Cubs used to hold back his uniform number so it'd be available for his rehab starts?

Nope, and there's a good reason for that.

Last time he was here as a Cub (I'm in Birmingham) a friend of mine saw him at a deli after his appointment with Andrews and got his autograph.  He told her his rehab was going well and he'd be back soon.  Riiiight.

Go to signonsandiego.com, and in the search box, type (with quotes) "mark prior".  Don't specify a category.  See what you get back, it's fun.

Hard to believe that they'd have such strong feelings about it at this point, but apparently so ...

Muhahahaha...

QuoteMark Prior will not resume his rehabilitation from last year's shoulder surgery for at least two weeks and possibly longer.

Prior learned that he has a tear in the capsule of his surgically repaired right shoulder during a consultation Friday in Birmingham, Ala., with orthopedic surgeon Dr. James Andrews.

"He'll be re-evalutated in two weeks," said Prior's agent, John Boggs. "... Obviously, you would have to characterize this as a setback."

I probably the only one who saw it, but I can't help be reminded of the Tom Hanks, Shelley Long classic, "The Money Pit".

I watched that a couple months ago.  Good catch.
