OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

I didn't see the game or hear the comment, but I think Bob was making a valid point, that the kid gloves are off and Castro is now open to fair-minded scrutiny.  If you can't criticize a rookie for making errors, what can you do?  This is less about the trees/Castro's errors and more about the forest/Castro's future (or some other ghey analogy, gheynalogy as they're sometimes called).

I agree that "500 games in the minors" is arbitrary at best, but who ever said Starlin was Teddy B. Game?  It just seems like a comment that would rile up some basement-dwelling faptards, but not us red blooded men.

Yes, but one can easily make this point without using some convoluted assumption that is clearly untrue.  And, if you can't call out an announcer for a momentary loss of lucidity, what can you call him out for?

I agree as mentioned.  As for your question, that is best answered in the form of Chip Caray and/or Kent Mercker.  Only a bullpen phone stands between us and the truth!

The fill-in for Karl Ravech is Steve Berthiaume.  I know it was brought up 366 days ago, but I hate the guy, so I felt the need to share.

I went to school with Berthiaume's brother while he was at the U of Iowa.  Lil' Bert would always talk about how his brother had made the big-time in Bristol.  He was almost every bit as annoying as Steve.  Almost.

Steve is cut from the cloth of those modern age sportscasters who believe vocal volume is what sells.  Those who believe that their banter is more important than the highlight itself.  Fuck that school of thought, and fuck those who call that school 'alma mater'.

That means he's been terribly unlucky, right?

Z did get screwed by definitely a few infield squib hits.

A new era of Cubs baseball, yippie!

O/U -- # of weeks until Carlos Silva gets skewered by a shish-ka-bob spear:  3 weeks 4 days.

Saw Waters in Milwaukee, '99.  He had a lot of the old Floyd session musicians with him, which was neat.  Guys like Andy Fairweather Low, Jon Carin, and who could forget ol' Snowy White?

Great show, I recommend checking it out.

Couldn't find a bigger pic, but I found this to be creepy-as-fuck.

Can't wait for TBS's understated promotion of the show during the baseball playoffs

What they need is a towel drill.  For hitters.

Credit to Chuck and Taylor (Chuck Taylor?) for mentioning Stalag 17.  Is Taylor still around in some capacity?

Spartacus and Patton for me, unless Spartacus doesn't count.

Metal huh?

Anybody here listen to black metal, folk metal, or any ambient type of stuff?

Emperor, Tyr, Summoning?

Emperor is legit.  Bathory's Blood Fire Death holds up surprisingly well over time, but you've probably already heard that album.  Immortal is a must, of course.

For folk metal, opinions on Vintersorg may vary, but I'll stand by the EP HedniskhjÀrtad any day of the week.

"It was a series of grammatically correct sentences composed at a computer keyboard over a period of at least several minutes."

I'm glad they've gotten this straightened out.
