DPD.

Reds' Matt Maloney will make his major league debut as he will start against the Cubs Saturday.
Maloney is 4-3 with a 2.00 ERA, 1.02 WHIP and 58 strikeouts through 67 1/3 innings with Triple-A Louisville this season.

Quote
Said Manager Dusty Baker, "Since this is his debut, I know he's going to be a little amped up. We'll have to keep him in check a bit, make sure he doesn't go too far. I don't anticipate more than 120-130 pitches."

I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

I haven't seen a pairing this awful since Greenf and Kapl:

QuoteFORMER REDS (among many other teams) pitcher Kent Mercker filled in on the radio broadcast with Marty Brennaman on Wednesday. Mercker is one of the smartest and most humorous players I ever dealt with. He was a guy who got it.

"AND I TOLD you Nix is an outstanding outfielder. Did you see that running, backhanded snag he made on the run in the sixth inning on Ryan Ludwick?"

Hmm.  He made a "running catch"  on the "run".   If it is worth saying once, it is worth saying twice, because saying it once isn't good enough.

If I had known that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.   (Plagerized from numerous other folks)
