I'm extremely irritated to have been made aware that there exists an interpretation of The Weight (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RynKlVeFvsY)* that contends a filmic narrative.
*The link's gratuitous, but I hadn't seen it before.
At the risk of losing my Child of the Seventies credentials I'm going to admit that I have always thought The Band was kind of overrated.

Certainly. For G-d's sake, they were rehashing the Dylan stuff immediately, and Danko is like Bob Weir refusing to go to seed. This is why I will not admit an incommensurate interpretation to the brilliant mistake.
The Band are one of the greatest and most influential bands of all time. I'm going to watch the Last Waltz tonight.
Helm's bluegrass stuff is worth a listen, if that sort of thing is your bag.
