OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Damnit, I just had to do this.  To sum up:

Since "Kermit" came to be, I've met several more of you and liked you.  Good friends, good times, don't know how I'd pass the day (or the season) without this place, thanks for hosting us, Andy, etc.

Here's to 3816 posts (and change) down, and 1908 more to go.

I'm just glad they didn't describe how he laid back on a bench, dumped a load of yogurt on his chest and moaned, "I miss Edmonds!"

Wow. That's a gold star.

Yeah, I shot water out of my nose on that one.

Dipshit, I know how the fuck to look up weather on the web. What I fucking want is someone on the fucking ground to say, "Hey, IDOT sucks right now, can't keep up, expect it to take 2 hours to get from Galesburg to Peoria." Or, "No problems, radar lies, clear sailing."

How hard is that?

Why don't you just wait and see how it plays out?

I think Netflix rocks.  I love the 'watch now' option.  There aren't a ton of movies on it yet, but it's nice when you just want to kill an hour and a half on a documentry or something.
'Cept the Watch Now doesn't work in Firefox, only IE.

Yeah, I'm stunned they haven't set it up for Firefox yet.

Netflix vs. Blockbuster Online?  Anyone have a preference?

Netflix has more stuff. The wait for certain titles on Blockbuster was longer than hell. Both send you DVDs that are pretty scratched up though. I was hoping the switch from Blockbuster to Netflix would improve that situation but thus far it hasn't. They send them in paper envelopes through the mail to other people's houses and gord knows what those people do with these things before they send them back. I'm ready for the next big thing. DVDs blow.

I've been using Netflix for a long time and am a big fan. Haven't had the scratched DVD problems that Apex has. Maybe his mailman needs to cut his fingernails. They've got a huge selection (including just about any TV show you can think of), the only downside I've noticed lately is that new releases aren't as readily available as they used to be. Also, call me old fashioned but I prefer to give my money to the company that came up with the idea instead of the Blockbusters and Wal Marts.

I'm with RV on this one. I stay with Netflix. Blockbuster can suck it.

Thirded.  I'll add that I really like Netflix's website.  Very user-friendly and easy to navigate.

MLB Trade Rumors & Speculation:

QuoteThe idea that Juan Pierre could take away at-bats from Matt Kemp and/or Andre Ethier seems absurd to me.  If he was making $400K instead of $8MM, would this even be a consideration?  Tony Jackson believes Pierre will be the main left fielder while Kemp and Ethier platoon in right.

Dylan Hernandez of the L.A. Times notes that Pierre seems willing to waive his five-team no-trade protection.  It's generally assumed that the Dodgers would have to eat some of his remaining $36.5MM over the next four years to move Pierre.

It seemed like the White Sox could've been interested in Pierre, but their outfield now seems set with Carlos Quentin, Nick Swisher, and Jermaine Dye.  Is there even one team for which for years of Pierre at, say, $24MM, would make sense?  Following the whole Corey Patterson/Kenny Lofton theme, maybe the Reds would have interest at the right price.

Dude.

BUT HE HAD 200 HITS!!!

Papist, schmapist.  Try being left-handed.  You haven't truly felt the slap of The Man (and a right-handed slap at that) until you try signing those keypads at Target with the pen connected to the right side.  Brutal.

I hear you, man.  Not to mention the ever-present ink BBQ sauce smears on my left pinky finger face.

Preemptive strike'ed.

So there was a convo I just joined in the Shoutbox, apparently with Chuck saying AD wasn't good...he should burn in hell.

Gob: I've got this Christian girlfriend now and she's trying to get me to be a better man and reconnect with my son and I'm trying to get her to renounce God and bleep me and I just want to prove to her that I'm worth it.

STEVE HOLT!

One of my favorite Gob/Steve Holt exchanges:

STEVE HOLT:  I'll never forget this, Dad.

Steve Holt walks away.

GOB:  I will, son.

Gob pops a forget-me-now into his mouth and begins crying.

GOB:  I will.

Chuck will now point out how "telegraphed" that exchange was.

QuoteMILWAUKEE (AP) -- Manager Ned Yost's 2009 option was exercised Friday by the Milwaukee Brewers following their first winning season in 15 years.

The Brewers were 83-79 last year, finishing second in the NL Central. It was the first winning mark since going 92-70 in 1992.

The 53-year-old Yost, a former player for the Brewers, was hired as manager Oct. 29, 2002.

I positive this move. Bring on another year of incompetent managing of the Brewers.

How the fuck can Jim Essian not land a managing gig?

It's all politics.

Haven't seen this posted yet on here.  It's the "Drunk History" series featuring Michael Cera and Jack Black.  There's three videos in the channel, all of which are awesome.

I made the Ratto-digested comment that if this fuckstain pitches before Memorial Day that all of the Prior defenders can eat my ass.  Well, Kerm took offense to that and, to his credit, later issued his own mea culpa when he witnessed first-hand Jim Hendry calling  Prior out for being a namby-pamby who wanted to weasel out of Chicago in the worst way.  Had Kerm not not gone all John "Bulldog" Drummond for that scoop, then this would be the day when I would tell all of the Prior defenders to eat my ass since the whole negotiation with him revolved around the presumption that he'd hardly pitch this year.

I think I hate this guy more than Matt Morris.

I said I'm sorry.  Quit spiking the ball!

Wait a minute, I signed up on the list for the H2H league but it was full. Son of a bitch, I wanted to witness the week-after-week-after-week stomping machine that is BC.

I can't remember exactly what I said in the first thread, but it was something like "You guys had better get your kicks in now, because when this league starts I am going to dominate week after week after week."

You can just make it up.  I'm sure no one read it, anyhow.

I think it is not.  You are the Sons of Jim Essian.  A guy with the user named jeff_fayhe has signed up as Bad Kermit's Team.  Maybe it's fabulous actor Jeff Fahey?  Or, maybe not.

Oh, that's a proper noun?  Maybe it's just a coincidence.

So, who's this managing Bad Kermit's Team?

That's what I was wondering.

Huh?  I think it's I.
