Bump.

I like to laugh at them, sure, but when Cubs fans were responsible for HORRY KOW I don't think we've got a leg to stand on here.
I will vow, for the sake of peace, not to complain about David Ross between now and his first start next year- 10/26/2015

Ugh. I forgot about that.

On a related note, I always wondered if LaTroy Hawkins had a point about Cub fans being racist, or if he just couldn't handle being heckled because he sucked so badly when he closed for the Cubs.

I'm not going to go so far as suggest that the merciless (and justified) beating that Todd Hundely endured disproves that the fans were racist but we sure didn't spare that worthless drunk any vitriol.  He was not only white, but a LOCAL GUY whose dad was a beloved player on a beloved team.

Also Derrek Lee was beloved.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Perhaps I should qualify this...I don't think Hawkins was targeted by fans because of his race, but I would guess that plenty of them expressed their outrage at him in a way that wouldn't look out of place on the Twitter feed for The Best Fans in Baseball.

Right. To deny the Cubs have racist fans is dumb, but nobody hated LaTroy because he was black, they just made sure to point out that he was black while yelling at him for blowing saves.

Well, yeah. Take any large group of people, and it's impossible to have a jagoff-free environment.
