Ate here this past week, good deal on Red Stripe. Went there thinking the food would be average at best,
came away thoroughly impressed. Great jerk chicken, waffle fries, etc.
Their mac n' cheese was one of the best I've had. If you're in ukrainian village, it's worth stopping by.
Just a block or so west of Tuman's on Chicago.

I don't know how Jamaican this place is but they have an island theme and played reggae so I'm going to make it count.
Had lunch and Big and Little's on the corner of Gunshot and Homicide. Pretty good tilapia taco, shrimp taco and a basket o' fries.
Hit this place up soon before their episode of Diners, Drive-ins and Backwards Upside Down Visors hits the Food Network. The proprietor was on Hell's Kitchen.

I was bumming around on yelp.com, and that place is the highest rated (under "burgers", funnily enough) in Chicago, I think.

Clearly, I won't be able to eat at all those places in just eight days, but damn me if I won't give it my very, very best shot.

Out of all the place Chad hangs out, Big Star would probably be my favorite. It still has an incredible outdoor

I'm not being funny but I'm not coming to Chicago to eat Sushi. I live at the seaside anyway, and what's more I've eaten sushi at four o'clock in the morning at Tokyo fish market. Fresher and more authentic sushi doesn't exist. As for other Asian food, you can get good Thai, Chinese, Malaysian or Indonesian anywhere.
I'm coming to America for what you guys do best - and those are the things that are on my list.

Fresher and more authentic sushi doesn't exist. As for other Asian food, you can get good Thai, Chinese, Malaysian or Indonesian anywhere.
I'm coming to America for what you guys do best - and those are the things that are on my list.
That's fair. Some good barbeque places in town too.

I'd add Big Star to the taco list if I were you. And you can sit outside and stare a hot muff the whole time. and drink.
Bucktown is finally ambercrombie enough for Chad. Big Star has good food, but screw Big Star.
Pontiac when the punks/artists lived in bucktown was the real deal. I miss that place. Especially in the summer.
I dunno, BH. Dubbs has done a pretty good job of selling it to me, I've got to say.
Out of all the place Chad hangs out, Big Star would probably be my favorite. It still has an incredible outdoor
patio for people watching. I just wish you weren't people watching girls in workout clothes pushing baby strollers.
No sushi/asian places on your list? Down the way from Big Star is Mirai, unreal sushi there.
Division is a better place to barhop than bucktown. Check out happy village and/or innertown pub
if you're in the area.

You can take Epic Burger off your list. Total pretender.
You might want to replace it with That's-A-Burger (http://chicagoburgerproject.blogspot.com/2007/03/thats-burger.html), though. But I was just looking to express my uneasiness over whelk-eating.

I fucking love whelks. Back in my bachelor days when I used to go down the Turk's Head in Staines to play darts and drink until I fell over, there was a bloke who came round every evening with a tray of cockles, mussels, whelks and so on. Whelks with white pepper hit the spot, every time.

It's not sad because a faux honky tonk place selling gourmet tacos (they even sell them through a cute walk up window!!) replaced the once great dive bar. Let's be honest, the Pontiac needed some sprucing up, HGTV style. Grab your chinos and head down there. Oleg and Chad will save you a seat.

Big Star fucking rules. People watching? Fuck off. 3 dollar pork belly taco. End of convo.
This, and the 3$ Bourbon shots to go with them.
Wait...Pontiac is gone?!!?
Sad.
You just keep on keepin' it real in Brolumbus, man.
After living here since september, i have a new appreciation for non-chain restaurants and bars.
Yep. Big Star is a regular Taco Bell.
Sorry if my opinion offended everyone. Is Big Star the sponsor of the shoutbox?
I just like pointing out when you're wronger than a regular PenFoe or an internet Chuck, especially when you get all butthurt over the closing of some dive bar that gets replaced with amazing food at awesome prices.

BH=Epic Asshhurtedness
I think it was the suggestion of sushi that Tonks summarily shot down that set this wheel in motion.
Well, that and being marooned in Ohio.
