OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

I have admittedly NOT watched much Kings basketball, nor have I tracked the career of John Salmons, but he's 6'6" and is averaging a career high 18+ per game.  More Miller means less Noah.  I'm intrigued but pretty disappoined after the Amare/Bosh talk of the last week.  I never did understand why Phoenix would want to trade Stoudemire anyway.

This is second hand from a source within an NBA organIzation, But my understanding is the deal involves Tyrus and others (no breaking news).  I trust my guy. The guy that told him about this deal may or may not know his ass from his elbow.  Or his Stoudemire from his Stoudamire.

As always....let's just see how it plays out.

But I am excited and wanted to share

I have it on good authority that Stoudamire to the Bulls is a done deal.

I thought Damon retired.

Wake me when Amare Stoudemire puts on a Bulls uniform.

Do you know for sure you'll be sleeping when it happens?

You can bust me on semantics or spelling if you need to, but next week I expect you to admit I told you so.  It's what I live for.

What do you think about getting Peavy?

He's really good at pitching

I have it on good authority that Stoudamire to the Bulls is a done deal.  The deal will be made official next week.  Not sure if the delay is "Waiting for Gooden" or not preempting the all star game in Phoenix, but this will be done.

And I will then change this thread title.

When I was in college, one of my friends joked with me that I would never be anything in the journalism world until I could become a Senior Executive Managing Editor-In-Chief.

Your friend isn't very funny.

But he may be the first of MANY to deliver BC career advice he would later ignore.

DPD.

Want to spend a few days in Puerto Vallarta in February.

Anyone know a nice place?

I've been three times and have always stayed close to town.

The Nuevo Vallarta section is much newer and presumably nicer (I've never been but have friends that have).  There you'll find the large all-inclusive multiple pool, and 6 restaurant resorts where you don't need to leave the resort.  You could venture into town for a day trip or even for dinner, but it's like staying in Naperville and dining downtown--not worth repeat trips.  If you plan to relax poolside for a few days and eat good food on-site, without much interest in the town itself, this may be the way to go.

If you prefer a bit more authentic Mexican experience there are nice hotels in and near the "hotel zone" which is a 2 minute cab ride from town or a long stroll.  I've stayed at the Sheraton Buganvilias and the Fiesta Americana and had decent experiences at both.  The Sheraton is nicer and I believe closer to town and thus more walkable.  I also remember the Holiday Inn looked nice and was pretty ideally located (best recollection)

The beaches in general are only OK and the sand can be a bit rocky. Peddlers are like gnats so we have always stayed poolside where you have the added bonus of a margarita.  The Nuevo Vallarta beaches are cleaner and much nicer from what I've heard.

The main strip in town is called the Malecon and there are plenty of restaurants and bars right off the strip.  I remember a very good little Mexican spot just in off the strip a block or two deep.  The outdoor dining area was sunken down a few steps and a flamenco guitarist played throughout dinner.  Very nice but I can't remember the name.

My strongest recommendation is to take a cab to Senor Chicos.  I believe the name has changed (still includes "Chicos") so I don't know what to expect there now. But the view should still be worth the trip.  It's a restaurant up in the mountains (10 minutes by cab).  Reserve a time before sunset so you will be seated in time.  Perched above the bay you can enjoy fantastic margaritas or a few bottles of wine at a vacationers pace and watch the sunset.  I remember the Carne Asada was delicious and I remember the wife and I ordering the third bottle of wine as the waiter chuckled.  After that I remember little.

Enjoy!

Bump.

Still watching this and it delivered a laugh out loud moment for me:

In search of the perfect burger Barney and the crew sample a few different places and they each heap humorous superlatives on the burgers as they eat.  "This burger is so good..."

Barney: "This burger is so good I want to sew my ass shut."

Bwuce Levine said that Z had to fly down to Venezuela Wednesday for his grandmother's funeral, and didn't get back in until late last night.  Apparently, his legs were pretty cramped from the flight, which helps explain some of the debacle of his start.  It DOESN'T explain why Marshall didn't just take the start (although maybe Z forced Lou to start him).

Was Z flying coach?  Big guy should be flying on someone's jet.  Doesn't someone have a private jet for the kid?  John Cusack?  Eddie Vedder?  Mark Cuban?

Marshall should have been given the start.  The result may have been the same minus the aggravation.

Now you know why Zambrano doesn't merit a splooge thread; because half the time, he deserves a fuck-you thread, instead. Z has become an all-or-nothing guy the last two years, he might be the highest variance SP in the league.

I don't trust that consistency at all in a short series, I hope Lou makes Dempster his #1 for the playoffs, Demp has been the most consistent starter this season.

You have a mental illness and I feel sorry for you.

Good luck.  Seriously.

Goddammit, what is your fucking problem, bitch? Enough is enough, you feel the need to attack people on this site due to some fucking agenda or whatever, most people came here to talk about, rave about, and yes, bitch about, the Cubs. I don't come here to get attacked with every damn post I make from some fuckhead with a Cardinals logo for god's sake.

Where did I say anything about some fucking pussy named "Mike D" in my post? But that's OK, you can begin ranting on someone without provocation, and I'm sure some of your like-minded little bitches can be nice and smarmy and jump in, too.

You want to play personal games, fine, that's what the other thread is for. Otherwise, keep it out of other threads on a CUBS FAN SITE, is that so damn hard for you? ASSHOLE.

Your idiocy makes my brain melt and that upsets me.

Just thought I should say something.

You can't BOTH show up at the Desipio Christmas party now.  It'd be too awkward.

Yesterday, I was cleaning out some shit from my storage area and uncovered two, mint condition Cubs little league jerseys

I too was on the "Cubs" in my hometown for Little League.  However, for whatever reason, our color was green.

According to the braintrust in Black Lung, IL:

Cubs = Green
Sox = Powder blue
Yankees = Dark blue
Giants = Yellow
Tigers = Orange
Dodgers = Red

No wonder we all sucked.

Right....It was the shirt color.

Bronson Arroyo is the best pitcher of all time. So the Reds should be fine.

3-run jack for Jerry the Lesser.

The Reds are titty-fucking CC right now. 1st and 3rd no out in the sixth.

Why?  Is he on the rag?

Oh yeah, I'm laughing. I guess we're trying to figure out the significance of only referring to him as "spouse". Sounds kind of formal to me. Almost like she's de-personalizing him. I don't think she's weird, just seems a little beat-down, which is understandable for a 26-year old trying to go to school raise a kid ("spouse" or not) and working as a nurse with convicts. Nice girl, just kinda gotta crack the shell a little.

Possibly married or vaguely committed to "someone".  Has a kid.  CoWorker.

Strike 3 Dave.  He should steer clear and not email anything inappropriate to this disaster waiting to happen.  Tell your boy to move on.  And stop with the emailing.  He's wasting his time and energy and there is a hard copy of his efforts if he is trying.

Don't even worry if she is legally married or not.  Forget about it.

This is my advice and it is good advice.  It will also be ignored.

It made me think how Edmonds has not really exhibited the same cocky crap that made him such a douche in St. Louis. Some of it may be because he's a Cub now, but it's interesting how a lot of guys start acting better once they get away from LaRussa's crap.

Since Scott Rolen always maintained his cool, I'm not going to completely exonerate Lassie

That's because he knows how Apex treats mere photographs of douchey players, and doesn't want to find out what he'll do to the genuine article.

Well, to be truthfully frank, Frank. The pictures don't punch back. I end up looking like a wild card with a screw loose and a bloody knuckle or three but I get to keep my pretty smile.

Further proof Apex is black.
