I'd like everybody to post their favorite Hank White memory. Mine of course is this: http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200808080.shtml

I loved how he drove Michael Barrett to the hospital after his countryman kicked the shit out of Mikey.

How could the Cubs not pay Hank just $250k more than Gabor?

I enjoyed these two days in 2006 when Hank almost single-handedly drove the Cubs to the playoffs at the expense of Milwaukee.

I like that Hank's B-R player ID is blanche01.

Has he been French all this time and I just didn't notice?

Nothing special, but I did have a nice box seat for the time  that Hank switched his number from Gabor's gay-assed #9 to the number #24 (http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200507140.shtml) that he would begin to rule the world with, and this was the first game after the '05 All-Star break, giving me an oh-so brief glimpse of hope that Dusty's collection of complacent ass-grabbers might actually do something.

Vaya con dios, Henry!

Jewel sucks.

Morph has issues with Jewel dating back to the horrible assrape he suffered while "Who Will Save Your Soul" was playing on the stereo.

To this day, all he has to do is hear Jewel and be begins walking with a gait usually associated with those who have been sodomized by King Kong.

True Story.

I can still remember sitting in a shitty college apartment, taking bong rips, listening to a bunch of middle school kids call me a faggot in a Halo 2 lobby, and watching the Cubs play the D'backs on a second TV. I happened to quiet a violent coughing fit long enough to overhear Len give an on-air shoutout to the Hank White Fan Club after Hank's second inning dong (http://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/CHN/CHN200507290.shtml). Next day I hit the Google machine to see what it was all about.

That was nine and a half years ago. I've wasted a lot of hours since then, and some of those hours were here. But many more hours I've spent here were anything but wasted. You guys are good people and I probably wouldn't know any of you if it weren't for the Hank White Fan Club.

Thanks, Hank. Thanks, Andy. Thanks, Internet.
[/sincerity]

Edit: Thanks, Brown Spot Bob.

Thank god you didn't cough too hard to not hear Len.

I was going to say....not sure which passage of time strikes me the most--that it's been 6 years since the  end of that run or that next Spring it'll have been a decade from when it began

Also, going back and reading that stuff is awesome. Funnier than I remember.  Something something fine wine.  I think Andy has good cause to fire that shit up again.

That's like an internship for coaches. They have to do all the bitch work and support that coaching staff while learning on the job. I bet it beats busing around the minors. It may be more a fast-track for Hank than it would be for most, because people have been talking about him as managerial material for quite some time.

Bump (http://hardballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/11/22/henry-blanco-leaves-diamondbacks-for-cubs-coaching-staff/).

QuoteBlanco... will be Chicago's quality assurance coach.

Looks like we're all set, fellas.

Guess he'll have to sign off on new shit before it migrates into production.

That's like an internship for coaches. They have to do all the bitch work and support that coaching staff while learning on the job. I bet it beats busing around the minors. It may be more a fast-track for Hank than it would be for most, because people have been talking about him as managerial material for quite some time.

Tell that to Raul Ibanez.

The guy who's a finalist for the Rays job?

I don't get this post at all.

Is it a meme that Pen always seems eager to not understand things? Because I feel like it should be.

Now it is.

I'm away from Photoshop at the moment to properly create this, but:

Necrobump. Good job, Hank. Quality was assured this season. Maybe David Ross can stay around as Assistant QA Coach.

Glad it's not time to say goobye to Hank quite yet.
