Title: Fantasy
Post by: WTB...A RING FFS!! on January 28, 2010, 05:30:11 PM
I'm reading one of Eddings series for prob the 5th or 6th time, as I'm really just not sure about most of what I see at Borders or Barnes & Nobles. Any suggestions short of the most obvious Tolkien stuff?

Gormenghast, Mervyn Peake. (http://www.amazon.com/Gormenghast-Novels-Mervyn-Peake/dp/0879516283/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=books&qid=1264721700&sr=8-1)

I read it about 10 years ago, but remember really liking it.

I recall quite liking at least the first three Thomas Covenant books as a lad. Don't know how it would hold up after all these years, but apparently Stephen Donaldson is still cranking them out.

I reread the first three a few years ago. Still pretty good. The second trilogy was a letdown if I recall (but I never reread it). I hear there's a third one, but I haven't seen it.
