That throw is too risky. Orton threw it out the end zone and they kicked the field goal. Game. Managed.

That may be the WORSTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT penalty call in the history of the NFL... HORRIBLE officiating right there...

Darryl Johnston, you are an idiot. Manning argues four or five calls a game. That was a s*** call.

Pretty good all-around win, although the offensive line once again flat-out sucked for good chunks of the game.

Well, four sacks in a half (What they gave up in the first half) was down from the nine they gave up against the Giants. They did have a very nice drive in the 3rd quarter, but then couldn't run block to save their lives in the 4th... Today wasn't as bad as some earlier performances, but IMO it wasn't great by any stretch outside of the 3rd quarter drive.

Come on, man.  This offense could only put up 31 points and 131 rushing yards against the team everybody picked for the Super Bowl this week.  Lucky fucks.

I for one cannot wait to see what kind of bullshit rationalizations will be used by the meatball Bears fans to turn this "must win game against the juggernaut team of the NFC" into a "fluke win against a wounded team that wasn't that good anyway".

You know?  Fuck those guys with with a rusty muffler.  You don't like Lovie Smith?  Fine, you don't have to.  But I'm sick of this "we gotta root against the Bears so everyone gets fired because this team can't win the Super Bowl" assholes.  The Bears are 8-3 and just punched the the NFC darlings right in the mouth.  If you can't get on board with this team, then just get out of the fucking way.  You're not a fan.  You're just a useless asshole.  Go lock yourself in your dark room and watch 8mms of the '63 Champs.  Nobody needs you here.

It was great. Probably even better than it seemed to me since I was in the 400-level around the 45 yard line. Hard to judge crowd noise from up top. Lots of cheers during each replay, out of many, of that Green Bay-beating FG. And each time Vick went down. Good to know, in the abstract, that everyone still does that "timeout" "where?" thing. I guess.

Walking out someone yelled "SUPER BEARS!" and I answered "SUPER BOWL!" Hope that was one of you.

Anyone at Soldier Field today? It seemed pretty electric from the couch.

I was. 8======D ~~ ~~~ ~~

Not to make more work for our fearless leader here, but I think this win was worthy of a rare football Dose from Andy. And a gigantic glass of Scotch (which I already drank).

Yeah, that game was fun as hell. Not sure if my seats were close enough to judge the game with BH-level accuracy, but Peppers was eating people, Cutler was flinging it all over the place like a young Steve Walsh, and the EAGLES SUCK chants were forceful and plentiful.

Also, some guy died. That sucks.

I don't know why but I just took a gander at Peter King's "Fine Fifteen." The Packers are 4th and the Bears are 5th. Peter says there's just something about this Packers team. What it is is hard to define. I did you all a favor by not linking to it. That dude is vermin.

I don't know how many fucking games the Packers have to lose by turnovers, penalties, and a complete and total inability to run the ball before people stop excusing it as a fluke and think MAYBE their preseason Super Bowl Hype Machine has some flaws.

Sorry

Quote4. Green Bay (7-4). Outgained Atlanta 418-294 in the Stats Are For Losers Dept. There's something about the Packers, though. I think they've got a heck of a shot to be back at the Georgia Dome for the NFC title game.

5. Chicago (8-3). I have no idea how that offensive line is going to hold up in December and January, but give Rod Marinelli and that D some credit for holding Mike Vick in check for 60 minutes better than anyone has this season.

Gotta get through DA SUPA BOWE BARES first, you fucker

Didn't somebody else die underneath the stands at Soldier shortly after it was renovated, also by clowning around and taking a steep fall? Like in 2003 or 2004?

If so, expect some sort of article frothing with RIGHTEOUS INDIGNATION from one of the triumvirate of Sun-Times dumbasses--Telander, Morissey, or Slezak--about how UNSAFE Soldier Field is and that, if steps aren't taken, more people will be subject to the dangers underneath the stands.

I don't know why but I just took a gander at Peter King's "Fine Fifteen." The Packers are 4th and the Bears are 5th. Peter says there's just something about this Packers team. What it is is hard to define. I did you all a favor by not linking to it. That dude is vermin.

I've never read that fat turd's MMBYOBBBQ, but I never miss this (http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2010/11/mass-transit-more-like-crass-transit.html).

In other enws, Bryan Scott is now Pank's favorite player.
