Title: Big Hero 6
Post by: World's #1 Astros Fan on December 26, 2014, 06:29:30 PM
If you have kids, take them to see this movie.  You won't disappointed.

If you don't have kids, go see this movie anyway.  You won't be disappointed.

Can second.

Took my 4.5 year old and he loved it and I probably loved it more.

Bumped for me finally seeing this.  It was very good. I liked it better than The Lego Movie.

Saw it over 6 months ago and my kids still do the "la la LA la la" after a fist bump.

Saw it on a plane the other day. Really nicely done, but is a character sacrificing himself for the main character becoming a standard Disney plot device?

It's a comic book adaptation so you can't really blame Disney on this one.

Disney's main plot device used to be killing off mothers (Bambi); removing them from the action by imprisoning them (Dumbo); or simply bypassing their role in the birthing process (Pinocchio).  Kind of makes you wonder about Walt's relationship with his mother, doesn't it?

Apropos of which, I met a guy this weekend whose name is Adolf Hiller.  I'm not fucking joking.  He was born in the fifties and that was what his parents christened him.  He goes by Adi, not surprisingly.

Bob Newhart did a routine in the 60's about sitting on a plane next to a passenger named Adolph Hifler.
