OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

1979 was when I got roped into this shit.  Long live Steve Dillard.

I hate the Cubs, and each and every one of you.

I was impressed with Valentine as a pbp guy.

Wait.  You mean "color" guy, right?

Are you seriously asking me out?  And here I thought being pregnant would make dating more difficult.

yep

Let's say, for the sake of argument, I were tempted to say yes.  There are these nagging details.  You might consider this kind of stodgy and uptight of me, but I generally won't arrange to meet people in person about whom I don't have some minor details, like, you know, their name, general age range, criminal history.  That kind of thing.  It just seems prudent.  Also, when asking someone out, if the intent is to actually go out, and not to entertain a messageboard, you might want to send a private message.  Just a little insight into (not to stereotype) the female mind.

Was TDubbs not at the Shitty's get-together when you were there?  I think it was the one with the weird Matt Murton fan-chick getting all dreamy eyed over Apex.

Dubbs was not there.  Ned Ryerson was.  When I met him, I asked if he was "TDubbs" (same initials, before he said who he was).  Much cooler than TDubbs, that Tommy is.

I'm betting they'll give Anderson another chance to be the guy, but what'll most likely happen will be Idonijie at end in most situations, with Anderson taking over and Idonijie sliding inside on passing downs. I think a pure pass rush of Anderson, Idonijie, Harris, and Peppers will be terrifying, but they'll have to improve against the run on 1st and 2nd down to actually ensure that opposing offenses are actually forced into passing situations with regularity.

DPD. Thanks, Fork.

Look, I don't know what you people know or don't know about football when I come down from on high to share my knowledge. Maybe you've figured out that there are four downs, hell, maybe you know that Bill Walsh didn't actually invent the West Coast offense because that was the original name for the Coryell offense and ironically they are the two most common and competing offenses used in the NFL today. I don't know. I just know it's my responsibility, handed down from God the Most High, to enlighten you people. Okay? So maybe I step on some toes when I insult your petulant little egos by dropping some knowledge you've already swallowed and clutch to your breast. I'll take that risk. You'll thank me.

Someday.

If it takes TrollPex rattling your cage to elicit useful information then your cage is gonna shake like a polaroid picture from now til February   you son of a bitch.

Two-shay.

Sad for the Cowhers and the Steelers family and also sad because I totally had inside info on this (one of my friends teaches at the high school in Raleigh where the kids went) and was told that she was going to make it to 2011, when I was going to get mad points for picking it.

Link.

Let me paraphrase for you.  "Sad, sad, sad, but it's even worse, you know, for me, because I was totally going to pick her next year."

I think even by death pool standards, this is kinda low.

Are you new here?

Pen, I'm sorry for your loss (of points).

I, for one, am glad the bitch died prematurely and prevented PenFoe from profiting.

What a day to have been stuck in meetings...

Casey is a fine name.
You like it, you stick with it.

You shouldn't say that until you know what the last name is.  If the two names don't sound good together, then ya gotta switch.

HOWEVAH, if Casey sounds alright with the last name, then I'd just stick with it.  If he gets picked on, he gets picked on.  Besides, movies have shown over and over that pedophile father-figure can whip that little fartknocker into shape in a minimum of 2 training montages.

Honestly, where smg really erred was in not requesting our name ideas before getting her heart set on Casey.

We have a bottomless well of suggestions to share. Just ask PenFoe.

I just named a baby a few months ago.  I got what the kids call "a 6 month old".

JD II?

Congrats, Dills.

Drew Magary may be the funniest motherfucker on the interwebs.

His funbags have entertained me through many a work poop.

Totally.  Now that I have my own printer I can print this stuff out and not worry about someone else beating me to the shared printer and then reporting me to HR.  I read his funbag on the throne every week now.

Anyone try Burt's Place in Morton Grove?

No, afraid not.

Really good pizza. Strange place. It's located on Ferris, just north of Lincoln, a short walk from the Metra station. The place is a little quirky. Only open Wednesday through Saturday. You need to call ahead for your pizza or a table, if you're eating in. Like several hours ahead or days in advance. Once they have all the orders they care to take, they stop answering the phone. If you don't call ahead, they won't seat you.

If you know this in advance, it's worth it. He does a thinner-than-average deep dish and a thicker than average thin crust. Both are excellent. Worth a try.

I have a couple friends that were just telling me about this place.  They said some family came in trying to get seated and they were told to take a hike.  They couldn't remember the name of the place...just that it was in Morton Grove.  Thanks, Teej.  I gotta hit this place up soon.

Casey = Male
Kasey = Female

That guy from whom Yellon lifted the "Cubs by Numbers" idea will probably be surprised to hear this.

Also, I work with a Casey who's a girl.  Full name is Cassandra.  My wife's boss--allso female--is Casey as well.  It still strikes me, initially, as a boy's name.

Ron's sighing and geezing is at an extremely high level today. He continues to suck at a level previously achieved only by Ryan Theriot.

True story.  I tuned in to Saturday's game--the first game in which I followed in at least 10 weeks.  After Soto dropped the game away, my disgust was soothed by the balm that is Santo's whining.  My spirits were actually picked up when I heard his woe-is-us bullshit.  It reminded me that the price I would have to pay if the Cubs suddenly got hot and back into the race would be this insufferbale asshole leading the premature celebration parade until my ears and blood pressure were shot.

Yes, I am petty man.

Loosely translated his name is "Third Nut".

John Kruk's gonna be jealous of this guy based on that alone.

Let's say I were having a baby boy at the end of the year.  Because I am. If I name him Casey, am I dooming him to a life of being teased for having a girl's name?  According to the social security web site, it get used more for boys than for girls ...

1. Congrats!
2. I don't consider Casey a girl's name (unless she's in porn). Just make sure to give him a really masculine middle name in case he decided he hates Casey.

How about "Casey Brutus"?

Also, congrats, SMG.
