OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Desipio Lounge / Doritos/Bud Light Bowl Breakdown

If IAN is dead in the impending celebration at least he will die a happy man.

Sean Payton - that's a coach.

Danica Patrick - fuck you.

That's about all I got.

Paperback Writer / Cold War Literature
February 06, 2010, 01:22:09 PM
Not looking for Tom Clancy stuff here, but is anyone able to recommend any good historical accounts of the Cold War, preferably less biased against the Soviets?

I'd like to read something that reflects on the social and political goings on during the arms race, but also if you've got any good fiction recs, I'd be up for those too.

Thanks, only site.

The Old Feedbag / Mussels?

Anyone know a place to get good mussels in the city? Not too much of a rip off, if possible.

Is this the beginning of the end of the good times in the Twin Cities? That would be really sad if Favre had a terrible string of games down the stretch and put up a huge stinker in the playoffs.

Really, sad stuff.

Here's a nice list to start a discussion from: http://www.avclub.com/articles/the-best-film-performances-of-the-00s,35851/

Here's something I caught in the comments but apparently people love Brick and they also love Joseph Gordon-Leavitt. I hated Brick so much I couldn't get through 30 minutes and JGL really just sucks.

Also, it seems like the best way to make this list is to have fondled a man on screen at some point over the last decade.

Because this forum needs another thread dedicated to a team no one gives a shit about.

Went to see this last night with the wife and some friends in 3D. I don't think reviews are overly favorable, but I really enjoyed this movie. Yeah the story's been beaten to death but the animation was incredible and downright scary at times. I will say for a PG movie this was nightmare fuel. This was my first 3D theater experience that I can recall and I didn't hate it.

I guess I'm an agreeable bastard. Or maybe I just learned a neat little lesson from Mr. Scrooge.

Boobtube / Psych

Couldn't find the Psych thread - I thought there was one. Does anyone still watch? This show is always good but Jules, aka Maggie Lawson, gets hotter and hotter every season.

Despite my Jesse Eisenberg haterection, this looks fun.

It's a busy fall and tickets are cheap around here. I've put together a shortlist of shows that I'm going to/thinking of going to over the next couple months.

Most Serene Republic, Sept 10th at Schuba's
*Trail of Dead and Secret Machines, Sept 25th at LSA
*Grizzly Bear, Sept 27th at Metro (for the wife, really)
Yo La Tengo, Oct 6th at the Vic
*Telefon Tel Aviv, Oct 10th at Hideout
*Twilght Sad, Oct 12th at Empty Bottle

I put stars by the shows I already have tickets to. If I have to say one of these is a must attend it's the Trail of Dead and Secret Machines show. Both bands are amazing live and its 15 dollars.

Also the Pixies are playing the Aragon Nov 20th and Pinback will be at the Bottom Lounge on Nov 3rd.
