OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Desipio Lounge / Dusty Baker Enrages Cincinnati Thread
October 06, 2012, 10:43:31 PM
Yes, it's 3-1 Reds through 6 but Cueto left the game after a few pitches. Looks like Dusty finally got to him.

Latos has done a nice job filling in but on three days rest.

Please make this hurt, baseball gods. And don't let Franchester and tHom experience any joy whatsoever.

Paperback Writer / Sherlock Takes on Jack the Ripper
September 20, 2012, 12:14:42 PM
Read most of this book from 1978 on the plane ride home where Sherlock Holmes takes on Jack the Ripper in 1888ish London. Fantastic read so far (just have the last part to go) and Sherlock is a freaking nutcase.

It gives me more appreciation for the BBC show - they definitely incorporated elements directly from this book.

Anyway it's by Michael Dibdin and it's called "The Last Sherlock Holmes Story."

If you guys love WWII shit and don't hate subtitles you MUST check out Max Manus on Netflix. It's available on demand.

Basically it's the true story of a Norwegian soldier who decides to form a resistance group behind Nazi lines after the occupation of Norway. It's fucking incredible. See it immediately.

Paperback Writer / Batman books
August 10, 2012, 10:30:09 PM
I just finished The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller.

Good fucking god was that a grim story. Reminded me of Watchmen a little bit with the semi-apocalyptic event. I mean that in a good way and I'm guessing that's probably some kind of sin in comicland of which I know little about.

I picked up a ton of other ones I only vaguely know about but am really looking forward to getting through.

The Killing Joke is next.

This is a really neat article from the point of view of a woman who fell in love with a computer programmer who turned out to be the lead singer of a band with a massive cult following.

Bollig and Smith re-sign for 2 years. People are mad about Bollig returning. His first year is a two-way deal and the second year is a one way. Read into that however you want. Some people have already decided it means Stink Bowman should be executed.

Anyway, for those who didn't make it to the MalortFest on Friday, that being most of you, you missed Fro trying to hit on all of the things with vaginas - at one point he even interrupted me mid-conversation so he could work his magic. It was woeful.

Anyone else see this? Actually thought it was a well done flick. Pretty cool and not too over the top.

Also a huge ensemble cast and of course Gwyneth Paltrow's sweet, sweet death in the first few scenes.

Mom's Basement / Gaming on the Mac
January 01, 2012, 10:42:36 AM
So has anyone actually used Steam on the Mac for games that require a controller? I could probably find a cheap USB controller that would work for my mac book and download a game or two from Steam to try it out but was curious to hear if anyone had actually had any experience playing games off Steam on a mac book with a controller.

Thanks Tony! Without you we might be one game away from another St. Louis championship.

How do you feel about that game tonight, Tony?

Liam Neeson is a forgetful old man...OR IS HE?

Not a bad little film. I had to suspend my disbelief at Diane Kruger being the man's cab driver but getting to look at Diane Kruger is nothing to complain about. January Jones, on the other hand, is the worst actress alive.

Check this out if you think Neeson is a bad ass. Good weekend action flick.
