OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Hey - this is a Netflix show by Maria Bamford and it's fucking incredible.

Watch it for laughs.

If Bruce goes to the Mets that'd be pretty annoying. I'm hoping they don't get into the playoffs again for obvious reasons.

Sweet Jesus. That was pretty.

Yeah that's a yell at your screen kind of play. Though I yelled at the screen pretty much 100 times last night.

So he's still a very good pitcher, obviously, and he's got the stuff to get by at 93-94, but I don't think Chris Sale is the same guy anymore. He said early in the year he was trying to conserve energy and be more efficient by pitching to contact but I don't think he hit 97 at all last night even when he was in jams and trying to get the K. His average fastball velocity is down by almost 3 MPH from last year and he's striking out 3 fewer batters per 9. His FIP has gone up a full run.

Obviously he's still a top end starter with a ludicrously cheap contract but if I were the White Sox I really would sell him now because I think he's already started the slow decline phase. They could probably still get a nice return for him next year if they wanted but I doubt his value is going to go up from here.

Even with the couple runs he was pretty decent last night. I'd take that outing from my SP.

Ventura has to be high on the pitcher abuse charts if such a thing exists. He always seems to let Sale throw 110 pitches.

Bump for a new season.

It was good. The ending left me hanging but the underwater episode was amazing.

Dwyane Wade. Yay?

Gotta get back into that 4-6 seed for next year's traditional second round exit.

Wildly optimistic.

Saw something even better that suggested with the out clauses for Wade and Rondo's contract being up in 2 years or whatever it is that the Bulls are primed to have Wade recruit big names and they'll have the space to sign a couple of them.

In a world that made sense the place where MJ did his thing/one of the biggest cities in the country would be a prime destination for FAs. Instead you've got GarPax and Hoiberg picking dingleberries.

It's too bad.

I hope Hamilton isn't seriously hurt because Rizzo bouncing an inside the park homer off of his stupid face is poetic justice.

I don't care how hurt he is.

Well, this thread turned out nice.

Best thread we've had.

Makes you think that even with all the amazing shit we're seeing beginning with last year into this one, we're on page 3 about a guy from 30 years ago.

Dawson sounds very awesome.

Favorite Cub ever.

My dad was at the game. The way he told the story to me (I was six) was that the ball took part of Dawson's mustache off and he laid in a heap. Suddenly he just got up like pure, uncut hellfire had possessed his body and decided to destroy Eric Show.

I almost never want to see the clip because I want to keep it in my mind the way it is.

Kris Bryant had 5 extra base hits Monday night, and Jason Heyward has 5 in his last 19 games (none in his last seven)

To be fair, nobody expected Heyward to match Bryant's offensive output.

Heyward has been offensively putrid all season, but at some point he's got to correct himself, right? There's nothing in his career to indicate he'll remain this horrible.

And as long as the Cubs are banged up, there aren't really a whole lot of other options in the 2 spot. Even Zobrist hasn't been doing a whole lot of hitting lately, last night's HR notwithstanding.

You would think that, but his career numbers indicated he would usually correct himself by now. June is one of his best months, and yet he's been even worse in the second half of this month than he's been all year. I'm starting to think that "sore wrist" was more than they let on and it's sapped him of all of his power.

I don't think he'll be this bad forever. But I think he might be this bad for the rest of the year because whatever is bugging him (minor injury, trouble adjusting, mechanical problem) is going to be tough to fix before the offseason.

They aren't the same player at all but I remember Moises Alou wasn't very good in his first season.
