OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Wiggum: Well hey, hey! You're Mel Brooks. Sure, I'll give you a ride.
Brooks: Thank you.
Wiggum: Er, on the way, we can do that, uh, 2000-dollar man thing.
Brooks: Mmm...
Wiggum: You be Carl Reiner, and I'll be police chief Wiggum.
Brooks: Listen, why don't you play Carl Reiner, and let me play police chief Wiggum? I hate Carl Reiner!

I've got a question for the gearheads on this fringe board:

About 4 weeks ago the check engine light in my '01 Monte SS (3800)
came on and Autozone told me it was an EGR valve error.  I purchased a
new one from them and installed it.  The light turned off, hasn't come
on since then, but I've noticed anywhere from a 3-5 mpg drop off in my
average fuel consumption since I installed the new EGR valve.  Any
thoughts?  Is it possible that I bought a poor quality replacement
part from Autozone (I've heard poor reviews of their parts before)?
Would it be reasonable to believe that part is the reason why my mpg
has dropped 17% (I was averaging anywhere from 27-29 mpg)?

The car has about 98,500 miles on it and I have yet to replace the
spark plugs (suggested at 100,000).  I'm going to throw some Gumout
fuel system cleaner in it on the next fill up, and replace the air
filter this evening (hasn't been done for awhile).  I replaced the
fuel filter around 65,000 miles.

So this Big Ten Network thing has me really pissed at Comcast and I'm thinking of making the switch to either of the satellites (I'm leaning toward Dish because of the free HD DVR/6 months), but I swear by my Tivo Series Two/Tivo to go.  Does anyone here have a satellite with Tivo series two?  If so, does it work it well?

I do (or did).  It works great, but you won't have any of the sharing between tivos/remote scheduling/etc. that stand alone tivos have.

I've recently upgraded to the new DirectTV HD unit.  Not near as nice as Tivo but serviceable.  It doesn't have the dual live buffers, which sucks for watching sports.  If I were a new subscriber that's what I'd go for since its the only PVR that will handle all of the new channels Andy mentioned earlier.

Get the DirectTV Choice Package, wait a week after they install it (you might have it installed within the next 48 hrs. if you're lucky), and DirecTV will try to follow up with you. They'll offer you the Premier Package + NFL Sunday ticket for $54.99. The only catch is you'll have to downgrade back to DirecTV Choice (which offers you most channels) once NFL season's over, or they'll increase your price to $99.99 or something like that.

I positive DirecTV.
