When you get all that business, do you need a bank to keep the cash in?

Or an accountant?

Tsk tsk, such blatent marketing, shameful (but when you want to buy Hallmark, give me a call)

Plus, your wife can never give you shit (not sure that she does anyway) for posting on Desipio.

Congrats man!

She's let him drag her along to multiple Desipio gatherings.

Frankly, I'm not sure what's wrong with her.

I didn't have the heart to mention this in the Dead Pool (L.Z. niftar over the weekend, A"H), but perhaps the synchronicity is auspicious.

"Around this time Ziprin and Joanna started a greeting card company, Ink Weed Arts, employing Smith, as well as future experimental filmmakers Bruce Connor and Jordan Belson. Lionel and [sic?] Smith designed unique 3-D cards, based on hand-drawn images of the Tree of Life. In a 1973 interview with Paul Cummings for the Smithsonian Institution's Archives of American Art, Connor is candid about the quixotic nature of the Ziprin's commercial enterprise:

" 'When I came here to New York I think in '51 or '52 I met Lionel and Joan Ziprin. I designed some greeting cards for them. At that time they were making what we call 'studio' cards. Harry Smith was designing three-dimensional Christmas cards. They were satirical, with a little bit of black humour, and totally unpopular. They were called Ink Weed Studios. They were totally disorganized as business people. They were not a business. They were very much involved in Kabbala and magic theory, and Tibetan mysticism as well. Harry Smith was very much involved in that. They would tell me stories, fantasies. Lionel gave me a book of Kabbala that was all in Hebrew. I could not read it, but he said it was good for me and it was good luck to have. And it has a mandala image in it.' " (http://www.jewishquarterly.org/article.asp?articleid=256)

OK, that drifts a bit yang, but anyway, the three-dimensional cards reportedly didn't work.  But they did cost $20,000.  One might say, "yah, give these smooth-jazz types what they want" and just feed them a steady diet of fickle lamaist hoodoo imagery.  Still, I wonder what they'd make of it if the radio spots were all laid down against a background of selections from "Cosmic Tones for Mental Therapy," Moondog, recitations of the founding documents of the Karen Horney Psychoanalytic Center, etc.

Good luck.

Radio contest update....we won! Thanks for all your votes.

Congratulations, Butthead!

Hell yeah! I contributed to something meaningful!

Well, she had never been on a rooftop, so she was in for that. And she is used to me dragging her to see bands she's never heard of, so the Regrets show was pretty usual stuff.

She usually doesn't give me shit for posting on Desipio, but if I am spending too much time on here she tells me to "tell my boyfriends goodbye and get back to work."

Haven't needed those for a dozen years now, but I like those Chicago Christmas cards you make (got them in a Hanakkuah)?

Use a singing bass in your ad. Everyone loves a singing bass.

Or singing ballroom dancing workout jeans. If you're targeting hypermasculine men, that is.

Yes, I think.  Last time I allowed my brain to process the wedding conversations we were still deciding.

PM me if your brain ever allows you to process it and decide. The grooms usually don't do much of the deciding though.

We could do a Hanukkah version. This one has been confused for a Hanukkah card before. The stars on the flag are pretty similar to the Star of David I guess.

Yeah, I felt uncomfortable typing my previous post, so let's go ahead and end this.

But again, congrats on winning the contest.
