Sam's Club.  Fucking State of California made me pay an extra $25 for an e-waste recycling fee, but otherwise, I couldn't pass it up.  The reviews are pretty good.  I think Consumer Reports gave it 8/10, deducting for there being only 2 HDMI inputs.

2 HDMI on a 37" is no big deal.  Very few people use that size as a primary set and, therefore, aren't hooking in a cable/sat box, a blu-ray, and a digital stereo setup.

Maybe a question for my fellow nerds, but will any HDMI cable work with a 360?

Yes. The HDMI input on the back (at least mine) is the standard input. So, get whatever one you want. The $0.27 version at Amazon is appealing

I did watch the conference championship round in Amsterdam.  Hell if I remember who was playing though.

I haven't, but I've seen the newer amplifiers have HDMI inputs and outputs so that you can have digital connections for sound from your TV and your blu-ray / DVD player.  I believe that the guy I talked to at Abt said that you want to hook HDMI from the amp to the TV in 2 directions.

Regardles, I have 3 HDMI on mine.  I use them for: 1) Cable box; 2) blu-ray; and 3) HD Camcorder.

Gotta be something from Italy, circa 1980.  That's my best guess.  Otherwise, I have no idea.

The reason you wouldn't do this is because it's pointless.
Run ALL of your audio directly from your sources to your receiver or pre-pro.
Unless you intend to use the crappy speakers in your TV, there is no reason to run any audio to the TV (even though the HDMI carries it to the TV you shouldn't use that run for your audio).

And I don't think you mean amp.

I dunno.  I haven't bought anything audio since about 1997.  Loans tied to HD video pay my mortgage.

Well, it took me a while to figure out the Royal gelatin, so maybe it will come into focus. Does that look like a chicken on the can?

So?
Loans or not, for someone that has spent as much time researching and learning about video as you have, I'm kind of surprised.
I assume you have done all this work in order to create a nice home theater?

The audio I have is clearly substandard relative to everything else I have and is slated next to upgrade.  And I've not had the profit motive to learn about the audio side.
