So?
Loans or not, for someone that has spent as much time researching and learning about video as you have, I'm kind of surprised.
I assume you have done all this work in order to create a nice home theater?

You have two eyes.
You have two ears.
Treat them equally, that is what makes for a true home theater experience.

The audio I have is clearly substandard relative to everything else I have and is slated next to upgrade.  And I've not had the profit motive to learn about the audio side.

Ahhh....it's a PROFIT deal!
I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

Anybody recognize the red, white, and green canisters here?

Gotta be something from Italy, circa 1980.  That's my best guess.  Otherwise, I have no idea.

Well, it took me a while to figure out the Royal gelatin, so maybe it will come into focus. Does that look like a chicken on the can?

(As an aside, their band wasn't all bad.)

I'm really enjoying flannj's repeated taunting of Internet Chuck. The contempt is just bleeding out of the subtext here. I've decided to get drunk and read as many of flannj's posts as I can some night. He's a regular Gore Vidal.

I suspect you'll be sorely disappointed Apex. I'm just another asshole sitting in front of a computer that fancies himself to be an audiophile.
A very low rung on the internet.
Although being compared to someone that could get under William F. Buckley's skin to such a significant degree is quite a compliment.

That being said, like everyone else here I take a perverse pleasure in any opportunity to needle Chuck.

Since I'm no longer in school and do not get any kind of health insurance from either of my jobs, I'm in search of some kind of plan so I can maybe figure out how many of the ligaments in my knee are still there.  Does anybody know of any relatively affordable plans, or at least a good place to start looking for them?

I expected nothing helpful to come from this.  I hope I'm not disappointed.

You might want to check in with the good ole State of Illinois.  I believe SCHIP applies to "children" under the age of 25 18.  You might be able to go that route.

Other than that, I know that Assurant (or however you spell that name) offers decently affordable plans, usually starting around ~100 bucks a month.

Edited to fix my mistake.  Check out Assurant though.  BCBS is decent too.

I've had to get short-term insurance when changing jobs, and I've used Assurant.  They're affordable and will cover you in case there's some sort of disaster.  I'm not sure how much luck you'll have though if you're wanting to get MRIs or whatever for your knee.  Usually those types of plans have really high deductibles.  I had the misfortune of an emergency room visit while on short-term insurance, and I ended having to pay for almost the entire thing before insurance kicked in.

At the very least, you can check out Esurance to get an idea of what some of these plans cost and will cover.  It's not a bad starting point.

Or you could wait until the Kenyan signs Obamanation-care into law and get in line for your death panel visit.
