Cards got another win today.  How the hell is Todd Wellemeyer 7-1 with a 2.92 ERA this year?  For that matter, how come failed Cubs pitchers always seem to blossom under another pitching coach's tutelage?

I don't know if it happens all that often.  How many times have failed Cubs pitchers had extended success after sucking with the Cubs?

It's possible my white-hot hatred for Fraudschild has clouded my memory, but didn't Mitre turn out to be a serviceable starter, i.e. better than he was here?  And Juan Cruz has done pretty well for himself since leaving (6.05 in 2003 vs. 2.75 in Atlanta in 2004, 3.10 in AZ in 2007)

You're right -- Cruz has turned into a decent middle reliever for the D-Backs.  But he was never really bad when he was here.  I think he didn't live up to the hype, and people got tired of waiting for him to be the next Pedro Martinez.

Mitre has had an ERA of 4.89 since leaving the Cubs, pitching his home games in a gigantic ballpark, so I'm not too upset about him.

Oh, no?  What if I remind you that they traded him for JUAN PIERRE?  He could have a 25.00 ERA, and I'd be mad they traded him for that sack of crap.

Nolasco would look pretty good in Jason Marquis uniform and Pinto could be sporting the Jebus cutter's duds.  That was a horse unicorn shit trade.
Geovany Soto is my own personal jebus.

Can we all give some love to Griffey for hitting 600?  MLB.com didn't even give him one of those custom-made, Photoshopped "600 HR" images on their front page.  Fucking Sosa got one of those!  I say we make some noise for one of the best players in history, cause all the sports publications seem to be taking a moment of silence.

Can we fill it in with:

"Griffey the Junior member of 600 HR club" or "Ken Griffey VI"

and

"Ken Griffey, Jr. hits 600th career HR, 600 fans witness event"

Just shoot me a PM or hit me up in the Shoutbox if you ever need anything. By the way, I know absolutely nothing about hockee, but the Leave it to Bettman piece was steak balls fried in bacon grease.

Are we seriously cheering on the injury of another team's star player?  Even if it's a team we hate so much, it's really questionable...

God, I fucking love this place.

And I'm surprised he's just not using his walker, or one of those electric cart things to move off the field.  Geriatric.

No*.  I would be pissed because I never got the chance to stab him in the fucking eye.

Sorry, my hatred for Kim Jong Il is really compricated.

*When Ken Griffey Jr. separated his shoulder at Great American versus the Cubs, I was the first asshole to stand up in our section to cheer and scream, "He's hurt, that fucking pussy is hurt... It's not even June, that pussy is HURT!"
