I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

I thought it was a pretty cool shot of Scales the other day when he looked like he was breathing a huge sigh of relief when he got his first big-league hit. looked like it genuinely meant a lot to him. Good for him.

While Scales surely can't maintain his 1.214 OPS (realistically, one should expect it to regress to the 1.000-1.075 range over a full season), it's cool to see him up and getting some big hits.  Go Bobby.
