Well, that ERA doesn't account for being away from Coors and facing a team that probably partied pretty hard after last night's sweep.

The Cubs are 0-2 on Fridays. 8-0 on all other days. That's probably sustainable too if they only get drunj on teh Thursdays.

I hope they were saving today's runs for St. Louis.

Taking a series in Dogpatch with the back of the rotation would be something worth hoisting a frosty Old Style to.

For FUCKS sake, it's the damn Brewers. Last night they made a shitty 6.11 ERA pitcher look like fucking Cy Young last night and not much better tonight...

Anybody else think Rizzo could use a breather? Right now he's late on everything.

I don't understand--and am kind of annoyed by-- the refusal to give Tony a blow.  I thought it was obvious last fall--his two homeruns off Kevin Siegrest notwithstanding-- that he was running on empty.  I thought this was addressed in the offseason and he was going to get a rest.  It's May 23rd and I don't know that he's had a day off yet, has he?
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Potentially, but he does this from time to time. Red hot for 3-4 weeks, then a 2 week slump where he pops everything up, then red hot again. Had a 1.232 OPS in the first two weeks of May last year, then .227/.346/.455 for the last two weeks of the month, followed by a 1.036 OPS the first few weeks of June, then a .230/.294/.492 stretch to end the month. He's streaky, but given that he usually keeps drawing walks and hits the occasional moonshot even when he's struggling, oh well.

Hey they pinch ran for him and he got a few innings off last week. That should be enough rest for a strong young man.

Over his last 15 games he's 200/328/345. So hopefully he's due to eviscerate Cardinals pitching.

I'd like to see him take a hanging curveball from Wainwright into the bleachers in the first inning. If they lose to this dilapidated version of Wainwright I'm going to vomit up blood. Cardinals fans are all excited because he "found himself" and blanked the Rockies for 6 2/3 in his last start, I really, really want the Cubs to put that dream to bed fast.
