I think it's okay to like both cats and dogs.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

Andre Dawson paid his $1,000 fine for the Joe West incident with style. Dawson wrote ``Donation for the blind`` in the memo section of his personal check.

...I don't really have all that much experience with these things but a 9 page dog day care application seems kind of excessive.

Cats are awesome.

Nope.

Note that this thread is supposed to not involve judging and/or debating.

But on the other hand, cats are terrible.

Any cold, rainy/snowy day when I hear the cat burying his own shit in the litterbox, that's when cats fucking rule.

On the other, you live in a house with cat shit in it.  Literally.

Litter Genie, man. Makes the shit virtually invisible.

Cat Genie. I have a cat but haven't actually seen a cat turd in probably a year.

"Virtually".

Also, I can't see oxygen but I know it's there.

I don't begrudge anyone for liking cats.  There are plenty of people who also like Rush and Yes and Genesis.  And believe the earth is 6000 years old.

The wife and I have a cat. I like my cat. But I've probably known, let's say, 50 cats in my life. I think of those 50, I liked about 5? That's enough of a percentage for me to write off the whole species as mostly useless. My cat only rules because we got him when he was so young he had to be bottle fed, so he loves people, plays fetch, and basically acts like a dog. The nicest thing I can say about him is he is the cat I know who is most like the obviously superior dog species, which really says it all.

My hit rate with human beings is way lower than this.

So, fire up the Death Star, I guess.

Outdoor / barn cats are cool. Anything that kills in order to pay its way is kind of bad ass.
Indoor / house cats are useless.

But neither compares to Yellow Labs. They are truly one of God's greatest creations.

I also keep a calculator on my desk. When someone is screaming at you to figure out an equation RIGHT FUCKING NOW I'm not going to mess around with the calculator function on a computer.

What does your yellow lab do to pay its way? I ask this as an owner of both a cat and a dog (not a yellow lab, but golden retriever) and am wondering if the dog could be put to better practical use.

Also, I have a calculator by my desk.

I also have a calculator by my desk but would like to point out that TDubbs claims to have an adding machine, a term I associate with men who wear eye-shades and sleeve-garters.

Not mine, both Mrs. flannj and my eldest are way too allergic. I go over to my mom's when I need my dog fix. She has two of them and they pay their way by being pure entertainment. There is no way you could spend five minutes with them and not laugh at them.
