After some research, I was surprised to discover how similar Canadian license plates are to American license plates.

Probably. I believe they cranked up production of the Nunavut plates in time for the G7 meeting in February. Hey guys, I appreciate the spirit of the spartan conditions, but wouldn't Winnipeg in April have sent a similar message? (And you would have had sunlight!)
