So, serious question.  Let's say Starlin Castro really isn't ready, which I'm assuming to be true.  Are the Cubs really going to play Theriot and Baker up the middle?

Yes.

What other options do they have? /Rhetorical question.

I'll say it...I don't know why they don't sign Felipe Lopez to a 1-year deal.
He's better than any of the internal options at this point and considering he's unsigned on 2/17, he can't be that expensive.
I can't believe I even know these people. I'm ashamed of my internet life.

Jarrod Washburn is probably better than all of their fifth starter options, too, and with each passing day, his price tag drops more and more.

I saw that he was still unsigned, too.  My main point by asking the question was that I would really prefer Theriot to play 2B.  It's just that those darn quality SS's don't grow on trees.

The Riot/Baker option really doesn't make my eyes bleed. It's not the balls but I'm sort of halfway convinced that neither guy is a complete and total turd. So basically, I offer and conclude nothing. Go Starlin. Claim your birthright and save our city. Parts of it anyway.
