Sullivan in the Tribune:
"Millar homered and doubled Sunday against the Angels, driving in three runs. He's 5-for-13 in the first 12 games, looking like a good bet to win a roster spot."

Right.  Make decisions based upon long balls hit in Arizona off minor league ptichers.

He's also looked terrible at 1st and has to be one of the slowest players in baseball.

Sounds like a bad fit for the Chicago Cubs?

I don't understand this. 3 of those 4 had productive offensive seasons.

2. I realize that you're a statfaggot and probably don't believe in the concept of hollow stats, but you must not have watched Fred McGriff's tenure as a Chicago Cub.

You need to install Desipio Plus.  It blocks any Kurt post automatically.

CD has the hookup for that.

Tracy bats left handed, can play first and third and left and right, and is a career .308 pinch hitter.

Chad A. Tracy, 242-328-7229, projects as very well lying within the Bermuda Triangle.

[Edito.--I tentatively recommend that he be nicknamed "The Keyhole."]

I thought the criteria was "looked terrible at 1st" and "slowest players in baseball."

Nevertheless, I see where this is going, so ...

QuoteRyan Theriot officially has won the battle with Kosuke Fukudome to be the leadoff man, and Mike Fontenot likely will be the regular second baseman.

I think he's more of the appendix of Desipio.  Yeah, it's here and you're vaguely aware of it, but only if reminded.  The only time anyone notices it is when it ruptures (on Weebs in the video game thread).  Beyond that, though, it's basically useless and offers no redeeming value.

Lou's gotta put eight guys out there behind the pitcher. SOMEBODY has to play second base.

I think I'm more upset about the first part.  I mean, I know lineups aren't supposed to matter and all, but why do they have to be so definitive about it?  Even against righties that muppet's going to lead off over Fuku?

This isn't Dusty Baker we're talking about here. If Theriot isn't getting it done at the top spot, Lou will move his ass out.
