OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Whatever the outcome, "medium panic" is a keeper.
Not if it can be traded for more money to sign ferners.

his OPS has gone up 40 points since July 1. It's still not great overall, but hopefully this means the break-down-to-build-up process is starting to work.

.851 OPS in that time, but only 3 walks in 71 PAs.

Maybe he just told Joboo to fuck off and decided to go it alone.

As opposed to 3 in 113 PAs in June. So "starting to work" seems to apply here.

I don't even care about Castro walking anymore. I think he got overly hung up on being patient and it messed with his approach. Given what a disaster this year has been, I think we have to be happy if he simply gets back to what he was in 2011-12, even if that means he never walks more than 40 times a year. Anything else is just a bonus.

Ayup. I'd rather not let the perfect be the enemy of the good on him at this point.

I'd love to see a team so good that it can bat a Castro in the 6th or 7th spot.

Pretty sure you'd just incessantly bitch and moan about whatever bum was batting 7th or 8th, but other than that sign me up.

Valbuena walks almost as much in a month as Castro does in a half season.. I sure as hell don't want to see Castro turn into Valbuena.

Depends who it is.  If it's a Michael Barrett or Korey Patterson, yes. Damian Miller or Larry Bow, notsomuch.

Nah. Fuck Larry Bowa.

You know what, if the Cubs re-sign Bowa to play, I will agree with you, Chuck.

I would draw the line at Fidel.  But maybe his brother...
