There is a lot about Memphis that I don't understand.  Two detectives are sent to an elementary school to investigate a fight between a couple of seven year olds?

Guh.  I have it DVR'd and finally watched the first episode.  It all seemed very forced and corny.  I don't get the tone, either.  I don't think they filmed it right.  I might give the second episode a shot, but it better get much better quickly.
Can you help me live a little more?  I expect good news.
