I've never heard fans of such a horrible team somehow think that one bad call is the reason they've been hot dog shit for the better part of sixty years.

D.J. Moore may have been overmatched against Calvin Johnson, but who isn't. He still had a pretty big game along with the entire defense - in the second half at least. He was just interviewed by Zach Zaidman on BEARS RADIOOOOOooooo 780 WBBM.

Zach: How big was it for you guys to gut out this win.

D.J.: I mean, aint nobody wanna lose to the Lions. Jeez, Louise. But it's always good to get a win.

I lol'd.

Yahoo Sports tagline: Questionable call helps Bears top Lions.

ESPN: Iffy Call Helps Out Bears

The ball...was...at..the.. FOURTEEN YARD LINE! It would have been 2nd or 3rd and 1 from the Lions 14. The penalty gave them seven fucking yards. Seven. Stupid. Fucking. Media.

A team that deserved to win that game would have declined the penalty.

You know, as much as I thought the Calvin Johnson rage was dumb, I understood because it was a TD taken off the board on the second to last play of the game. This was a 7 yard penalty. On 2nd down. With 9 minutes left. And they still think it cost them a win.

I smell a conspiracy.

Suh's a young, marketable player.  Within 5 minutes of that play, the crew went to that pit boss-looking guy (Mike Perrini) to break it down.  At halftime it was being raked over by the studio crew.  It was talked about at halftime at other games.  It was as if, they had the whole thing set up to deliver a pre-arranged bit that would somehow possibly be tangentially related to the current events topic of head-hitting.  Because, like some have pointed out here already, the Bears were only on first down, and the penalty only tacked on 7 more yards.  As far as the game goes, the penalty had little impact (and for Lions to complain about it only worsens the delusion...thanks, guys...way to take accountability for losing a decently-fought game) The reaction really seemed outsized to me, which leads me to believe they were just waiting for the perfect storm of A) a marketable player + questionable hit + Mike Perrini getting back in time from burying Tony Spilotro's nephew in the desert and being TV-ready for the whole farce to be sprung into action.
Just a sloppy, undisciplined team.  Garbage.

Well, that's the lamest conspiracy theory ever. But I agree they're going overboard on every questionable looking hit right now because meatheads are irate over how "sissyfied" football has become and you're going to earn a lot of points with them by saying "YA MIGHT AS WEL PUT FLAGZ ON THE KARTERBACK!" Also, they're pretty fond of finding any ridiculously lame excuse they can for discrediting every modicum of success the Bears earn this year.
