I don't get it.  Why would Theo and Jed not give Marshall a multi-year contract?  Marshall IS a reliever and you just never know how that market is going to play out.  Besides, relievers are known for being very consistent from year to year so there's really no risk at locking them up for 3 or even 4 years!

This is so bad, I'd root for the Orioles over this fucking team, but I can't. Because they're a fucking drug and you can't kick it and they'll never win anything and they'll always suck, but it'll always be sunny at Wrigley and there will be tits and ivy and an old scoreboard and fucking Chads.

Why Theo's reign in Chicago has been a disaster so far.

Trade Marshall? And maybe Garza? Keep Soriano and Z? The best GMs aren't necessarily the best GMs anymore. WTF Theo, get a life!

I think Jacob speaks for all of us:
"Totally agree with your article. It seems like most Cubs fans are split on signing Fielder and are ok with rebuilding for a year or two. I want them to make a big splash and contend this year. Maybe it's not realistic, but with the Cubs payroll, they should at least be .500. And if it's not ok to hope for the playoffs, even when your team is clearly not good enough, then I don't wanna be a fan anymore. Sometimes hope is all fans have."

Since 1908 few men have had the balls to ask the question, "When are the Cubs going to get better?" And then Joshua Edwards arrived. He is those balls.

I also appreciate how the article was formatted. Slideshows are a great way to tell any story, especially when the page has unlimited length.

I know this isn't a David DeJesus thread, but if the Cubs are set on rebuilding for a year or two why the hell did DeJesus decide to sign here?  I guess I'm happy to have him and all, he's a nice enough player, but he could play with a contender as he's still useful.  Maybe the Cubs will have trade bait if he plays well?
