rrdego- I bought the MLB.com package last year and it is definitely worth it. I’m waiting for opening day to buy it, but I will definitely get it again. It covers all the games that ESPN, and WGN don’t. The video quality isn’t great but it’s good enough, also it is reliable. The good thing about it last year was that you could watch the feed from the other teams perspective (like the DirectTV packages) so you didn’t have to listen to Chip and Steve. Also last year they had 2 full years worth of games on archives that you could watch whenever you wanted to.

That game-winning two run double by Barrett:
I was helping my friend’s girlfriend move and had a truck full of her crap in the middle of a busy intersection in Indianapolis. Long-assed red light: Two on, two out, POW!!! into the corner, Hollandsworth Scores! Walker Slides SAAAAAFE Cubs Win (10x)!!! I jumped out of the truck and did a little dance as the light turned green and people started to honk. I jumped back in the truck and we took off, laughing and screaming.
But in the process, I dropped my cellphone in the street. Three hours later I came back to the same intersection and found it, broken in two, partly melted.
I put it back together and it worked. Nokia makes damn good phones.

I put it back in my pocket and kept on drinking. The next morning, I woke up, opened my coat and found the pieces. I put them back together and I used the phone for another two years.
Also a Nokia. We should do commercials for them.
Of course, now I have a Motorola because it looks cooler.

Ah, gettin’ it started right.
The visibility sucks. I’m sitting here in the “booth” and all I can see is my garage door and a dog pissing on the rocks I call my “lawn.”
Apparently Ron has figured out that Corey struck out a lot last year.
This is the kind of insight you only get from a legless near Hall of Famer.
I am really cutting down my strikeouts this year! Oooops!
I bought the MLB Audio package last year and my e-mail address and password still work. I guess I won’t have to re-up until Opening Day. At $14.95 it’s a steal, especially if you work in a building with shit radio reception.
And…if you get shit radio reception, you are likely listening to AM 1000.
I’ve got dibs on that Cactus League batting title!
We’re nowhere to be found online
How many times this season will WGN come back from commercial as Nomar trots into first with a first-pitch single? They’re about 50-50 on getting back for the first pitch of the inning.
We came in with 2 outs in the 1st
I shelled out the $15 and it ain’t working.
$14.95 for a full season on MLB.com is still a bargain. I’m on.
Why is Sonny Jackson standing by my car out in the parking lot holding a rag and a very large burlap sack?
For those of you scoring at home…what the hell are you doing? It’s a spring training game..on the radio! Go outside, get some sun!
I’m in midseason form, I’m starting sentences with absolutely no intention of actually finishing them.
Ronny, you need me to clean out your colostomy bag, again?
I just scored some good porn!!
We’re getting beat by the Indians.
What’s going on in the game? Score me!
What’d the Cubs do in the first? Nothin?
Looks like we’re dong this alot better
Hot Todd Hollandsworth! He’s almost as quick as Billy!
Why was there no mention of today being my birthday in the dose?
0-0 after 1.5 inn
Remember you guys love me
when I was still in use, we’d see a Julie Bowen picture right around now.
Did Pat just say, “Ron cut a few rugs in his day”?
I was sure he’d follow it with, and then he wears them on his head.
I still have no clue what’s going on with the 15 other teams in our league.
I’m sitting on the bench for Dave Hansen?
Don’t worry Doobie, we’ll empty the benches and have all the white guys out in the sun before long.
I’ve got to work you in shifts!
I was a friend’s bachelor party standing on a spot that was going to eventually become a second bar in the restaurant we were in, and at the time it was just a cement slab. I was drunk off my ass. Reached into my coat, pulled out my cell phone, dropped it and it broke into about four pieces.
I put it back in my pocket and kept on drinking. The next morning, I woke up, opened my coat and found the pieces. I put them back together and I used the phone for another two years.
Also a Nokia. We should do commercials for them.
Of course, now I have a Motorola because it looks cooler.
What’s the over/under on how many times Ron calls Nick Swisher, Steve?
I’m going for six today. And at least three times he’ll call him Swishy.
Shut up Dusty!!
We’re abbreviated LAA. That’s funny, I’d have abbreviated it DUMBSHITS. That’s the worst name ever.
I have a Samsung. When I drop it, it doesn’t break.
It often doesn’t get service either, so…I have no point.
I think Carlos is more sexier this year!
I guess I’ve picked up Chip Caray’s routine, as I just mentioned that I paid for Ron’s lunch.
I’m in mid-season form.
Me too!
I taught Barrett how to drop those third strikes. He’s a great pupil!
I miss him already!
*Sob*
I’ve got a Samsung too. It’s a piece of shite. Oh, for the days when I had raggedy-ass phone that actually worked… and the Cubs were in the pennant race. And I lived in Indianapolis… sigh.
I’m trying to get hurt here, again, guys…
Get these worthless hacks off my team. My boy keels the A’s, and you give him a tray of meat, Don Quixote bastard son in CF, and two dopers at corner OF?? Prepare to die.
It’s my time, boys.
I’m still excellent.
Ron Santo,
Meet a real Hall of Fame Third Baseman!
Nomar gets hit by a pitch. On the hand. Oh SHIAT
Sorry I had to hurt Nomie’s hand. See ya next year! And drive home safely please…..
Give me my $40mil/4 year deal now.
Nice HR by Aramis. Where do we send his check?
Give Ram his deal…then let’s hit him in the hand too…
Did Nomar leave the game?
If Neifi Perez is our starting shortstop in 31 days you can kiss this season goodbye.
Nomar out for “precautionary reasons”
Me no like.
Was it me or did Hollandsworth draw a walk in that inning? When was the last time that happened?
Did everybody out there commit suicide after Nomar got hit by the hand?
Hellooo
Mitre comes in and gives up a single.
What’s the score?
Guys on ‘roids always get hit in the hand with pitches.
Hey, the time I broke my hand in spring training, it was no big deal.
Except that I retired about three months later.
2-1 Cubs
Cub shortstops are always breaking their hands.
Ryno, I broke your hand in 1993. You came back to hit .300 in 1993
You retired in 1994, and that might have been more to do with your wife banging every latino player that walked through the clubhouse.
No reason to fear the worst yet.
Pat and Ron can’t seem to name half the Cubs playing today.
Did I mention Dubois is playing now?
Does it trouble anybody that Ron and Pat seem to think it’s funny that they don’t know who the guys are playing for the Cubs? Isn’t it…uh…kind of their JOBS?
In 1996 Sosa had 40 HR and 100 RBI when he got hit on the hand in late August. Led the league in both categories at the time. The Cubs were alive in the division race too. But they hit the toilet very soon after.
Andy
I’m with you on that.
Ron is especially bad at that, Andy. He mispronounces many names, he admitted today that he can’t really see what’s happening unless he has binoculars, and he’s just … well, loopy most of the time.
I don’t know how different the show would be with out him, but I might be in favor of it.
Poor legless bastard.
Mike Jackson effectively cut Sandberg’s career short, in my bitter opinion.
Mia will put Nomar’s hand somewhere, um, “rehabilatative”. It’ll be fine.
Ronnie grows more senile with each passing year.
Who the hell am I?
Hairston singles
Ron Cedeno in to bat.
Single – moves Hairston to 3rd.
I’m baaaaaaack!
Out by 20 feet. Just the way Dusty likes it! (Pats self on back.)
Did anybody catch Ronny’s comment about Burnitz looking thinner….
Has anybody checked to see if he was stealing my viagra medication?
That’s the tastiest shortstop, I ever heard!
Hairston out at the plate on a double steal.
Is this what small ball is gonna be like?
Got to love that unfundamental play! I thought we were getting rid of that by getting rid of Kim, Sosa, Alou, Mercker, etc. Oh wait, I guess we didn’t look at the real reason why nobody on this team knows what to do on the basepaths… His name is Dusty…
I think you’ve got to find a spot for Hairston. LF. Put Hollandsworth in Right. Send Burnitz to the Pirates for a minor leaguer case of Big League Chew.
Just so he knows up front. No pizza for Jimmy Anderson today.
Did I just ask who we traded Jimmy Anderson to before he came back.
Jesus. Do I know anything? At all?
Did I just say Dopey Reese? Somebody get me some insulin, stat!
Angel Ecchaveria, I thought they should have kept him. Couldn’t have been worse than Troy O’Leary.
I’ve got good news and bad news, Nomar.
The good news is that you didn’t break your hand.
The bad news is that you also didn’t break your nose.
What could have been worse than me?
But hey, anybody remember my homer in game seven? I was clutch!
I really should give Pat and Ron a fucking program so they can tell who’s who, shouldn’t I?
I’ll do it right after softball practice.
Just how hard would it be for Pat and or Ron to actually watch the players run out for the new half inning and maybe…oh, this is crazy…check to see if there have been any substitutions.
When I was working for the fabulous Beloit Snappers, we had to do that in the press box, and you know, it’s just not that freakin’ hard.
Angel Ecchaveria is still alive? I thought Angel was a decent pinch hitter last time around with the Cubs, but I couldn’t bring myself to like him, because Mike Murphy was screaming about how he should be starting in left field.
CT –
Either way Pat and Ron can’t figure out how to pronounce his name.
Guess they shouldn’t have taken the names off the backs of the home uniforms. Maybe in spring training, the players names should be spelled out phonetically on their jerseys.
CT
sheesh, you think the Tribune has that kind of coin?
Actually, there’s an article in the paper today about how the Trib’s 1st quarter earnings are going to be down 3 cents a share due to the Sosa trade.
whats the score of the game?
CT
Exactly. Anyone own any stock?
Of course that just means higher profits in the 2nd and 3rd quarters since they won’t be paying Sosa then.
Will Ohman in and gives up a first pitch single
Final.
Double Play. Inning over.
I should be starting on this team. I’m better than Walker or Burnitz but they swing the bat and scratch their ass with their left hand so…
Or not.
That was a quick about face Jerry, what’d you do now?
Pat basically just told us that anyone can do their jobs
Apparently they’re not receiving any lineup changes in the press box
I grounded out weakly to third. Very early in the count.
Actually, I’m not so good. I hope the food is good in Des Moines.
You guys can quit ripping Pat and Ron now. You want precision, focus and high drama, go kiss Bob Costas’ ass. Me, I’d rather laugh.
I just called Hawkins “Leroy”.
Clap clap clap clap clap!
The poor man’s Jeter
Apex, kiss our asses. We try to listen the game as we work and it has gotten increasingly difficult to follow it when Santo and Hughes are just making up names and Santo is talking about which hairpiece he’s wearing.
So, who’s gonna close this one?
Stiff: This is Spring Training. Relax.
Your first closer of the Spring Session is …
Wuertz
What’s the status on Nomar?
Nomar will miss a few days (meaning He’ll see you in June)
I might as well be selling blue jeans.
Wuertz is doing his best Cubs’ closer impression
Hah!
Jack Cust… once a promising prospect of the Rockies. They thought he’d be a real stud.
Echevarria bobbles a potential game-ending DP.
Got the runner at 1st.
Two Outs
Man on 2nd
Jeremey Brown WAFTWCOTA rating just shot up .126!
To be fair, Pat and Ron’s schtick is easier to take when you can check on the status of the game at MLB or ESPN.com. When they’re your only way of finding out little things like…the score…or who’s playing, you get a little edgy.
I think Wuertz is going to find a way to blow this.
Well, my only way of finding out the little things is reading these posts.
Imagine how edgy I am!
Hairston to Echevarria
CUBS WIN
CUBS WIN
CUBS WIN
Start me.
It’s true, we’re not selling jeans. But if we were selling fat pants, Jeremy’d be a regular customer.
To the Cactus League title is 28!
What time is the game today?
Oh, shit. I slept through it. Well, time for dinner!
Wasn’t Wuertz the closer for the I-Cubs when he was down there last year?
Would be nice to hear something about Nomar (other than from “The” pulling shit out of his ass).
What is WAFTWCOTA?
Nothing. I made it up after reading about “JAWS Score” on the Cub Reporter. It also is inspired by BP’s bullshit PECOTA rating.
In our game thread a reader reassured the oters that Nomar’s OK because he “ran off the field” after getting hit in the hand. We’re geniuses!
Wife Acceptance Factor With COck in The Ass.
Everything’s ok (cubs.com):
PHOENIX — In Nomar Garciaparra’s first at-bat of his first spring game with the Chicago Cubs, he hit a single to right. In his second at-bat, the Cubs cringed.
Garciaparra was hit on the left wrist by Oakland pitcher Joe Blanton leading off the fourth inning Thursday. Garciaparra came out of the game but said he was OK.
“It got me good, but it had a little ricochet,” Garciaparra said. “It’s OK. I’ll be fine. It’s been feeling great other than a bruise — it can handle a bruise.”
I’m sure Nomar will be fine. Spring training injuries are never serious!
Shut up, you unlicensed hack! Now where’s my lawyer?!
You aren’t gonna sue, are you Krum? I’d never ask, but you aren’t, right?
I wish to propose for the reader’s favourable consideration a doctrine which may, I fear, appear wildly paradoxical and subversive. The doctrine in question is this: that it is undesirable to believe a proposition when there is no ground whatever for supposing it true. by discount phentermine

There is something stunningly narrow about how the Anthropic Principal is phrased. Yes, only certain laws and constants of nature are consistent with our kind of life. But essentially the same laws and constants are required to make a rock. So why not talk about a Universe designed so rocks could one day come to be, and strong and weak Lithic Principals?
