OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

I'm just terrified that Yeti is the smart one in some family.

I mean...we've all heard about your family too, SKO.

Hey I'm not the smart one in my family. I'm just the one that's smart and relatively sane. The one currently living in Thailand with his wife (who goes by the facebook name of Foxy L. Stargirrl) is basically a fucking rocket scientist. He's just completely off his rocker.

The middle brother's dumber than a stump, so that's fair.

That's "Foxie L. Stargirl", actually.

Wouldn't know. Cut him out of my life completely. He flew to Thailand on fucking Christmas Eve, after having a "heart to heart" with his six year old daughter about why it's "too hard to be away from someone you love so much." Then Christmas Day she said to me "I can't wait to show my dad my princess dress" that she got for Christmas, not understanding that he won't be back for god knows how long, and at that moment I wrote him off. Mother fucker.

Holy fucking shit...that breaks my heart...with a 3 year old girl myself, I can't imagine this...I love the twinkle mine gets in her eye when she's proud to show me something.  I truly hope she's doing well despite the POS.

Was in the car during the top of the 5th yesterday and Coomer was handling play by play duties. Jesus what a train wreck. "Analyst" Pat Hughes had to step in a couple of times to clarify Ron's vague-as-fuck descriptions. Is this going to be a thing all season, or did Grote have the squirts, thus throwing Pat off his normal 5th inning steamer routine?

Holy hell I am glad I'm not the only one to notice this...on Friday afternoon is when I heard Ron doing the play-by-play and transitions to commercial.  Pat was left to comment about the weather.

Serious stuff.  It's in Chicago now.

Probable swine flu closes Rogers Park school
April 29, 2009 7:11 AM | No Comments

A probable case of swine flu has prompted the closing of a North Side elementary school for at least two days.

The case involves a student at Kilmer Elementary School, 6700 N. Greenview Ave. in the Rogers Park neighborhood, Chicago Public Schools chief Ron Huberman said at a morning press conference at the school.

Chicago Public Health Commissioner Terry Mason said the student "is recovered at home." Ald. Joe Moore (49th) said the student is 12.

Huberman said tests on the student have been sent to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, and he expects results back in 24 to 36 hours.

The decision to close the school was made Tuesday after the state reported the probable case to CPS and the system noticed an unusually high absentee rate at the school (see map), Huberman said.

Attendance at the school is normally 94 to 96 percent, but it was 87 percent on Tuesday, Huberman said. That was "clearly enough of a differential" to warrant the closing. He said the school would be closed "indefinitely," but at least for two days.

The Kilmer student population of 850 is 60 percent Hispanic. It has a teaching staff of 46. The school is also in a heavily Hispanic populated area of the Rogers Park neighborhood. The swine flu has taken its heaviest toll in Mexico.

Uh oh.  My roommate's girlfriend teaches 5th grade at an elementary school in Rogers Park.  Not sure if this is the same one.

I just watched the season finale and liked how it tied up the stories, but, yes, it was fantastically unrealistic for all the reasons already mentioned.  And you didn't even mention the fact that Saracen gave up on the Art Institute because of his "gramma" and Julie Taylor's gigantic boobs.  Well, okay, I guess that was realistic.

The show is still terrific, though.  Is there any better way to get bad news than from Tami Taylor while her funbags are hanging out of her dress?

Starting up a new program at a new school will also allow the show to introduce a slew of new characters - to address the issue of how to replace those who are graduating to college.  With the ones that remain, what happens?  Does Saracen become an assistant coach at East Dillion High? etc.

2 more seasons of Julie Taylor makes me very happy.  I love the possibilties of this show, with rotating in new characters as older ones graduate.  Just like Dazed and Confused from a viewing audience standpoint...I keep watching, and the girls on the show stay the saaaaaame age.

Saracen's mom is pretty hot, too, even though her hair could use some work.
No.

Yes

Saracen's mom was on Deadwood. Naked, I believe. She worked at the Bella Union.

Ho. Ly. Crap.

Thanks for placing her, that had been driving me insane.

If the Gas Crisis isn't one of the best in that show's history, I don't know what is.

I think might rank up there with, "I love lamp."

How does one go about making a copy of a key for your apartment building that is labeled "Do Not Duplicate".

You can't just go to Home Depot and "get'er done", can you?

15 days until season 4 kicks off.

A couple of writers on the show have a blog on the F/X website: http://paddyspub.blogs.fxnetworks.com/

Check out Dennis' Erotic Memoirs.  Only one posting so far, but they say more is to come.

Her gutteral moans awakened a beast in me, and I pounded away like some sort of jackhammer/jackrabbit crossbreed that I'll call a Jackhambit. Legs and arms bent this way and that, testicles akimbo, my heart pounded in my skull as I felt the levees break. She cried out as she punched a hole in my headboard, her orgasm(s?) like a baptism for my junk.

If you guys like the show, I'd check out HBO's website for it.  It's pretty impressive.  It looks like the entire series is based on a book penned by the Rolling Stone writer that is tagging along with Bravo company.  The writer, Evan Wright, has written up blog style entries related to every show in the series, giving a little background information on what was going on.  The website even has a map that shows the route taken by Bravo, broken down by episode.

From reading his entries, I found it interesting that Wright was against having an actor play himself in the show - not wanting it to be about himself at all.  And he makes every attempt to make it clear that there was competent leadership within the division Bravo company was a part of - just that Bravo ended up with "Captain America" and "Encino Man".  Wright said that he and Simon "shoehorned" the captain of Alpha company into the story to show that there were good leaders within the division.

And I found out that Marine Sgt. Rudy Reyes (the big dude they rag on for being ghey) is playing himself in the show.  Impressive.

Oh, and they also have some sort of drive set up where HBO, or the makers of the products, will send 1 item of your choosing for providing them with a valid email address.  Under "Troop Drive".

Episode Two: Titballs made of real tits.

One problem with the show, if any. Too many characters and I'm having difficulty telling them apart. So if one or two get fragged, I'll have a harder time feeling for that character the way I ought to. In a seven part series, character development will be difficult.

Other than that the entire thing reeks of awesomeness. Get some.

I haven't seen Part II yet.  But, I find myself liking that guy I can't understand.  The one who said something about the corners of the moustaches...that guy is a real dick.

I could be wrong, but I think he's the guy who played the ghey son of the chief (proper terminology?) in Rescue Me.  If not, he looks like him.

They ALL look the same to you, don't they? You gheycist.

Well played.

Looks like the same dude, if imdb is right:  http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0428925/

I hope USA has this OnDemand.  I saw previews for it last night and thought it had potential.  Reading this thread makes me disappointed I missed the show.

Gabrielle Anwar?  Doesn't ring a bell...google here I come!

I'm back from the wilds of the internet.  I second the motion to drill Anwar.
