OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Preserving the link above.

Looks like Chairman JD has instituted a new waiver process, $100 waiver budget for the year - weekly blind bids?

What's the juice, Arkansas?

Figured I'd see if there was any interest before starting a league.

Let me know if you're in, once we get to 8 or so committed, I can scrape a couple more together and we can give this a go.

Desipio Lounge / Albie would like a new nickname
February 26, 2010, 03:09:31 PM
Since El Hombre is apparently a no-go, Albert would like a new nickname.

Quote
Albert Pujols requested Friday, via the St. Louis Post-Dispatch's Bernie Miklasz, that media and fans refrain from calling him "El Hombre."
Pujols believes it's disrespectful to Cardinals legend Stan Musial, who can often be seen by Albert's side during Opening Day festivities in St. Louis. "I don't want to be called that," Pujols said. "There is one man that gets that respect, and that's Stan Musial. He's the Man. He's the Man in St. Louis. And I know 'El Hombre' means 'The Man' in Spanish. But Stan is The Man. You can call me whatever else you want, but just don't call me El Hombre."

I'm hoping this nets out at "Prince Albert", so that the Tards fans can think it's a compliment and not realize that they're calling him a Punctured Dong.

Anyone read this book?

I'm halfway through and I'm pretty sure I'm going to slit my wrists.

Yep.

Deal with it.

Just because I knew this was in the works doesn't make this trailer any less painful.

Insert requisite Hench/J-Bug joke here.

Based solely on this preview...this is probably the worst movie ever made.

Started a league if anyone wants to play.
All you do is pick one team a week, if that team wins, you move on, if they lose, you're out.

You can't pick the same team twice.

League size is unlimited, so feel free to pass along.

This will literally take 3 minutes of your time every week, but good bragging rights.

Desipio Lounge / Twatheads Twittering

Since Steve Stone is not the only asshat entertaining us with his tweets, figured there should be some forum for the best of the best, much like the YouTube Discoveries thread.

Some gems upon coming into work today:

1. Started following Tony Mandarich the other day, received a Direct Message from him:
Quote
Woooo Hoooo Thanks for following me on Twitter.

Wondering if he personally thanked all 41K of his followers...

2. Joe Buck

Anyone see this?

I just did...kinda liked it.

Sam Mendes of American Beauty fame directed it.

Michael Shannon was pretty solid in a cameo, good work by DiCaprio...

Summary: Was planning on probably hating it, didn't.

On-Hoops.com / NBA Season 2009-2010

Since the Bulls are now significant, and last season is over...figured it was time for a new thread.

Interesting draft prospects at 16 and 26.

K.C. reporting, among other things, that

Quote
The Bulls have held trade talks with several teams about packaging picks Nos. 16 and 26 into one higher selection, with two league sources insisting the target is Duke shooting guard Gerald Henderson.

I assume you only do this if Gordon is a lock not to come back.

Still think that with Deng coming back there are too many odd-fitting pieces here to not make a trade, but that was the thinking going into last season with 14 guards, and that worked out...decently.

The Bulls still feel like Rose and a bunch of questionable guys, though better than a year ago.
