I was just at the local Whole Foods, picking up a couple things for dinner.
They had, for $7, a bacon chocolate bar.
$7.
Bacon chocolate.
I'll let you know how it tastes tomorrow morning.
OK A-holes. It's fixed. Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them. I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Did anyone else notice in this season how the NLC is no longer rancid?
I did. ESPN hasn't, yet.

I know it's Metromix, but check this out. Mainly the BLT cupcake at More, and the all-you-can-eat bacon at Chinaski's.
Free all-you-can-eat bacon? This challenges everything I've ever known about economics.
If all-you-can-eat bacon isn't an INCENTIVE, I don't know what is.
There was another bar that did this, but I can't remember the name and I believe it has closed. The MARKET at work.
Also, they had a "deep fry anything" night, where you could bring stuff in and they'd batter and deep fry it.

I thought Brenly was going to jump out of the booth and strangle Howry.
This is how fucked up Howry is. Ahead in the count, he throws a strike down the middle to Quintero who, as Bob pointed out, is a free-swinger (even though he earned a walk off of Goose Man later). Later in the inning, when all that fuckstick had to do was throw a strike down the middle while Reggie Abercrombie was giving him an out by bunting, he instead threw 4 pitches out of the zone.
I had the feeling that Lou was willing to sacrifice last night's game to determine, once and for all, if Howry's going to be able to be counted on down the stretch. He even threw Wuertz in there for comparison's sake. It was relatively low-pressure, as it was only the 6th inning, and I'd say mission accomplished. Now let us never see this batting cage machine ever again.

I'm just glad that Howry finally perfected his one pitch, the big, fat fastball right the down the middle.

I have extra bleacher ticket's for tonight's game. I'm organizing a bus trip from Aurora and may have up to 8 or 11 available once we arrive at Wrigley at about 6 p.m. or so. You're certainly welcome to join us on the bus too, which leaves Aurora at 4 p.m. I won't know exactly how many tickets I have until then.
I know I have at least 2 because of a last-minute cancellation.
Face is $36, but the tickets cost me $42 after fees and taxes. PM me here before 2 for more details on the bus trip or to meet me outside Wrigley. Thanks.

I'm sure this is nothing at all...
What was Ned thinking? Sheets could have pitched through a little tightness in his groin and gone a full 9 innings.

On a related note, I'm going to assume that Wood's 20K game would've also been a no-hitter under these new rules.
If it weren't for the strikezone of the incomparable Jerry Meals, it probably would've been a 10 K game and Wood would have left after 5. And the Cubs would've lost and never made the playoffs.
But hey, 66 homeruns,octaroonsbuddy!

Uh... what?
Because you have a pretty smile, of course.
And a tremendous wang?
OH! Right. Hahahahahah.
