OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

As long as we're bumping everybody, this guy deserves a turn.
He certainly wasn't flawless in the postseason, but I think we saw a lot more good than bad from him this year.

Excited for this kid's long-term future, regardless of role.

Rock on, Carl.

And, you know, maybe eat a goddamn sandwich during the offseason.

Amazing. Simply amazing.

And thank you to my staff who was content letting me watch the game in the breakroom all evening instead of having me, you know, work...

I do wonder whether anybody has ever taken in Springfield, IL, as a tourist destination.  I mean... anybody.

EVER.

Abraham Lincoln was dying to go there.

While it is merely spring training, could the team *maybe* try and win one game soon? I mean, good 'em for the tie... whatever that means in baseball.

How dare you. This is the SPRING TRAINING CHAMPIONSHIP we're talking about.

You sir, are Goddamn right.

Nine games in, and Kris Bryant is off to a hot start.  Currently leading the Arizona Fall League in HR and OPS.  Almora is fourth in OPS.

Plus, Soler is playing today, so hopefully he and Bryant can both start in Tennessee in the spring.

Nobody should ever wish anybody to be in Tennessee in the Spring. Or ever.

They should bring Don Zimmer back. They could pay him in cheeseburgers. And if he strokes out again, they could always bring Quade back - he could mole squint into the setting sun of the Cubs hopes and dreams for one more season.

Heh... Harp seal.

I do have a good view - but reliable internet connection is a bitch here. WildBlue isn't going to cut it for video streaming. I also agree that it is 2013 - and you would think that everywhere would be connected by now - however, I've noticed that in the little shithole community I've been in for the past four years that it has been 1955 since 1936.

Valid points - but I have to pick at one of them. MLB.tv is fairly inexpensive, and Extra Innings can be - but it depends on your provider and where you are. I'm not going to start a Comcast sucks rant, because that horse has been beaten numerous times way past rigor mortis.

However, the nice thing about WGN on a cable system or a dish based system is that shmucks like those of us that live in a genuinely rural area can still watch the games (at least the ones not on CSN Chicago) on a plan barely over basic. MLB.tv relies on a decent internet connection - which you aren't going to get in the Shenandoah Valley in Virginia. And Extra Innings can be kinda spendy if you make the average wages a rural shmuck makes - so WGN, while a relic, still serves a purpose.

That said - I guess I really don't give a fuck what they do, I'll figure out a way to get the games - MLB audio isn't that expensive either, when I can get in a 3G area - but I just thought I'd throw in a $.02 as to why they do still provide a decent service, whether around the country, or just in the further reaches of downstate.

I must admit, I'm impressed with my ability to get a question right, and still end up with a negative score.

It's like college all over again.

But if you think this is impressive, just wait until you see my performance next year.

For a while there I thought Dead Pool 2011 was gonna be a bit of a bust, mostly given some of the gimmes we whiffed on.

Well, look at us now...

Shooter, RV, Big Drinky, CT and Gil can at least take comfort in still being ahead of Redbeard.

He exercised every day. He had a juicer, and extolled the powers of juice diets, and vitamins. And died at 96.

George Burns smoke cigars unfailingly, drank like a fish, and caroused openly. And died at 100.

God Bless You, George.
