OK A-holes.  It's fixed.  Enjoy the orange links, because I have no fucking idea how to change them.  I basically learned scripting in four days to fix this damned thing. - Andy

Repeat after me: just because Hendry the Idiot signed Jockularity Jones does NOT mean the Cubs are stuck with him for three years. When Theo takes over next fall, he'll just eat half of Jones' money and dump him on some team like the Royals or Pirates. Jones probably IS worth $2MM a year, so some team would take him.

As for 2006, it's a lost cause anyway, so just look forward to the Baker and Hendry Era ending and.....wait 'til next year. Again.

Would you believe Hendry has now committed $95MM to this horseshit, making reasonable assumptions about what Z, Prior, Pierre et al. will make in arbitration? Honestly, could you put a WORSE team together with that kind of money? What a fucked up team, from 5 outs to the pennant to total fucking train wreck in 26 months, that's one helluva accomplishment!!

Can't wait for MacFail to give Hendry and he in turn, Baker, those long-term extensions. That will be a fung day, mang!!

Oops.  My bad.  Sorry.

But your profile says you're 59.

And those latter round picks (i.e. Mike Brown Colvin etc.)  That's fine, but so long as you're queering the deal at the top, with your first rounders, you'll be in trouble.  It's like leading off your games with Corey Patterson and Neifi Perez before you get to Lee and Ramirez.

You're checking my profile to see my age? Dude, you're weirding me out. And, I'd like to take this first opportunity of the day to say again that yes, Baker is a friggin moran.

That's funny, considering that :

A) I do have my own blog, although I admittedly seldom write anything on it and

B) The complaint comes from an angry, bitter, sociopathic geriatric who happens to be #3 on the "Topics Started" list.

Catch the irony, Gramps?

Was directed at Paul, not you Mike, when I saw him responding to his own posts repeatedly in this thread. Lighten up. And I'm not TOO old (44).

Is it too much to ask that you move Aramis to fourth?  Burnitz has been solid, but not as solid as A-Ram (both have been hot).  On the whole, A-Ram's going to do more and make more teams think twice before giving Lee the free pass.

And yes, only Corey could make a hit and a steal a net loss for the team.

You know what? I was thinking about this, and the buzz has always been that Aramis is an overly sensitive guy. Maybe for some unknown reason, he's just more comfortable hitting 5th? The pressure's off him a bit at #5, and he concentrate on doing this thang there without the "Cleanup Hitter" baggage. I mean, go back and look at Ramirez' numbers for 2003, 2004, and 2005 as a #3, #4, #5 and #6 hitter. I believe you'll find he's been the most productive at #5.

It's also worth noting that sandwiching Burnitz between Lee and Ramirez makes Jeromy a much more dangerous hitter too. It's hard to argue with his numbers since Dustbag put him there. His OPS is now over 850 and his BA is pushing 300. Nice.

A deadbeat like K-Patt could learn a thing or two from Lee. As good a hitter as he is, as big a slugger as he is, what does Lee do over and over again? Go with the pitch, just drive it nice and easy to right center field, over and over again. The pitcher gets sick of that crap, decides to bust Lee inside instead, and cruncho--Waveland Avenue.

Going oppo creates the HR opportunities to the pull field Korey, you worthless, uncoachable dumabass moran.

Keeping your swing inside the strike zone is a good thing too...if you swing at crap, there's very little incentive for a pitcher to throw you strikes...

And being selective too...did you catch Len's comment on Lee during tonight's game after his homer? That was just the third time the entire SEASON Lee has swung at a 3-0 pitch. Dammit, the most maddening thing about most Cubs players for several years now is that they are so damn impatient at the plate. When will they learn that being selective, good things happen as a result?
